Fun course but WAY TOO SLOW
Overall this is a fun course to play. Very affordable, weather is perfect, you can use your whole bag.
The reason its only getting 3 stars is because it took 3 hours to play 9 holes. Its WAY to slow of a pace, there is no pace enforced, and they force you to play in groups of 5 even though they only advertise groups of 4. If they could fix there pace of play, this would be my favorite 9 hole course in so cal
Sunday Afternoon
I am a huge fan of the Penmar course, always great people paired with me and a fun time. I almost had my best game, +2 going into the 9th Hole and Mito, and I shared a meltdown. Double Bog...
Beautiful Day to Golf
My second time playing Penmar and it didn't let me down. Quite a few holes to pull out the driver and if you miss the fairway, you're OK. 5 people usually head out together on this walking only course amd it's just fine. If you're in a hurry, you probably shouldn't be a golfer. You'll get backed up a bit, which allows for good conversation and then it clears up by hole 4 or 5. Enjoy.
DRIVE FOR SHOW, PUT FOR DOUGH
I live 10 minutes from Penmar, and I enjoying playing whenever possible. This last round was extra-special because I got to play with my 80 yr old dad.
My only real complaint is the speed of play due to all groups being 5 players.. Having to wait upwards of 15 minutes at each tee box is a bit much.
My favorite place on the west side
I just love this course because it’s got a kind of magic about it. It’s not amazing in any sense, but the feelings it produces are wild. Such an easy course yet wildly challenging at the same time. Don’t go because it’s slow enough as is and hard to get times.
First Time, Loved It!
Played Penmar on the way back from Malibu, and it didn't let me down. Played 9 holes in just over 2 hours and it's not just an Executive par 3 course. There are a few par 4s where you'll hit your driver. Plenty of room for mistakes and an overall good time for $15 (Hot Deal on GolfNow app) Enjoy.
A Friday run
Usually an incredible pace. One hour and 50 minutes. This day it was plus an hour. A lot of dirt patches as well. Unusual for the course.
Great little golf course
We really enjoyed this little golf course. A nice 9 hole walking course with some longer holes.
