Towne Lake Hills Golf Club
About
Carved from acres of wooded countryside in Woodstock, Towne Lake Hills Golf Club takes advantage of the rolling green hills. The dramatic elevation changes make it difficult to find an even lie anywhere on the course. Arthur Hills, the course's designer, incorporated a variety of challenges that makes each hole unique including a deft smattering of sand bunkers. The golf course depends as heavily on course management and strategy as it does on shot-making skills. It is a challenge to say the least, but it's fair. There are also four sets of tees that make it more approachable. One of the most memorable holes is the fifth. This par 5 presents an interesting risk-reward opportunity that will make you think. Towne Lake Hills G.C. boasts consistently good course conditions and idyllic scenery that make the round even more enjoyable.

The best shot of my life. My first shot on hole 11. 308 yard par 4. Photo submitted by u000007718501 on 11/12/2013
course has some of the best greens in the area.
I've played this course many times and have enjoyed it most of the time. This most resent was no different. While my score was not the nicest i've had, it was a fun day.The greens were running quite fast and true while at the same time able to approach shots. The fairways are starting to go dormant which thins them out a little bit in places. The upkeep of the course looks very well maintained. I did have to battle a strong wind during my round which is the only downside of my day and my score reflected it.
Enjoyable Course
Overall an enjoyable outing. Had to wait fifteen to twenty minutes to get a cart and then was admonished by the starter for being late. If they are going to make people wait due to their overbooking, they could at least instruct their employees to accomodate their customers for the inconvenience versus being rude to them. The rest of the day was enjoyable and moved at a good pace.
Pretty good
Fun track, really tight cut on fairways and narrow landing areas if your long off the tee. Greens rolled nice. Couple of blind tee shots, had a hard time finding 2 shots in the fairway, because I had no perspective of where they'd end up. Would probably be a bit easier 2nd time around. Played this course on a Hot deal as usually it's a bit pricey for one of my regular weekly rounds. After playing it I'll only play it on a hot deal. Good course, but not too good a value at the regular price in my opinion.
Great course to challenge your skills
Course doesn't beat you, but has some great holes to challenge your skills. Fairly forgiving for the novice, but challenging enough for the better golfers. Nice variety of different types of holes. Course very well maintained. Did I mention I pared the 18th last week? If you've played it before, you'll know what I mean. :) (23 handicap)
A great value for NW Atlanta Area
Towne Lake is a great value.
The track itself, for a neighborhood course, really flows nicely.
The greens aren’t fast but are consistent.
Whether you fade or draw the ball you’ll have a good time.
Inside staff, cart gal are great.
Starters need to lighten up a bit. If you have a 10:10 tee time then they don’t launch you a minute early. Speed of play has been a challenge a few times.
Definitely recommend, fun track that still will give you a good challenge. Couple of nice risk / reward holes and some Par 5’s that you can reach in two.
Greens were in Excellent Shape
I have played this course many times ,,it continue;s every time I am there to be in better shape...the staff always helpful, if playing alone ..they team you as quickly as they can prior to your normal tee time...I live on this course and it get's a lot of play and stays in shape.
Course was in great shape for the money.
They had the tee times stacked up and didn't pair up the two-somes to make play faster. The marshalls also didn't do a good job of speeding up slow playing groups taking multiple shots of the tee box. I would play there again, but maybe once it's a bit colder and there are less people out.
Course in good condition and close
Course in good condition along with good value on golfnow.
Course is in really good shape and plays pretty fair.

Nice course
The course was in good condition this time around. I like the way they have really improved the playablility of #18 from the way it was a few years back. Still have a couple quirky holes but all-in-all a nice tract up in the foothills NW of Atlanta.
Decent option if you can find a good deal
I would definitely rate this course at average. A decent layout with no "tricked up" holes until you get to #18. That last hole is definitely strange. You MUST drive up and take a look before you play your second shot on #18 if it is your first time. I wouldn't pay their regular rate, but would recommend it if you can find a sweet deal on Golf Now.
Challenging Course
Course is challenging and offers some unique holes. Would definetely recommend playing this course.
You Will Use EVERY Club In Your Bag
This course has something for everyone. Each hole offers something different. Right now its in the best shape I've seen it in a couple years. Not a lot of level lies, so placing your golf ball in the right location is key to a good round.
towne lake hills
Course was in good conditions. Greens were soft due to the time of year(bent grass greens don't like the heat), nice layout
Short but Challenging
At 5806 from the whites, the course appears very approachable. One look at the slope (130) and you realize something doesn't add up.
There is a big learning curve to this course. You need to be good at "course management" (a.k.a. hitting the landing zones) to have a decent chance at par. You won't always see the danger until it's too late.
The course will test your ability, but it does so in a way that you still enjoy the experience and look forward to coming back.
Good luck!
has some tricky holes that require course knowledge
A good course to practice your skills but get a value price, as it is not worth paying full price
Great Course for the money!
Great, middle of the road course for the money. Greens are fantastic, fairways in great shape. Tee boxes need a little more attention, but not bad at all. Biggest complaint is that the carts need to have batteries changed. I've had a cart die within 9 holes, over the last 8 rounds played there. It's a real problem, that everyone is complaining about. Overall, it's a very enjoyable experience.
Good course, easy access
I consider this my home course its fair but fun with good variety and intresting layout. Ive had to chase some kids off that shouldn't of been in a golf cart. and the carts need work , but i enjoy playing here.
