The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Beautiful course, how could it not be in Hawaii? A lot of cut grass that would have been nice to have been picked up, but that's a minor thing. Very playable and the fact that the wind was down made it fun. Cart refreshment and after round prices were decent too.

Lovely course

Greens and fairways were beautiful and challenging. Too crowded so play was very slow. Guy who gave us clubs was nasty. In pro shop the people were very friendly and helpful.

A round to remember

We arrived on time got our cart loaded up headed to the first tea. Three hours later we were leaving the golf. Course pace of play was excellent. Course was in great shape. Greens are fairly fast watch it views are spectacular.

Have played Kona CC quite a few times and it has always been an enjoyable round. The staff is helpful. The course views are better than the majority of other courses on the island. They keep the shape of the course in great condition, considering the amount of play they get. I recommend Kona CC to anyone wanting a challenging round on a beautiful course.
