The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Spectacular Views

Course was beautiful, a few ocean side holes with superb views! Crazy cool par 3 on the back over a rock crevas! The staff were excellent, polite, welcoming, informed, everything you could want.

Only negatives, Pace was slow and tee boxes were less than good. Other than that this course gets 5 stars across the board all day.

Stunning!!

This course was one of the best well kept tracks I've ever played. Ocean holes were stunning! The rest of the course tucked in tropical setting was was just as nice! Greens were more than fair and rolled well. Sadly, I couldn't find the fairway for the life of me so my score didn't reflect how nice the course set up.

Getting paired up with some players with no golf course etiquette was difficult as well. Too bad you get what you get sometimes. Wish there was a way that could be fixed. I don't do well in those situations.

I found paradise

having come from Southern California, specifically playing courses in Palm Springs for the last 12 years it was quite different to be in this wonderful lush environment on the Pacific coastline in Kona Hawaii

this Hass to be one of the most beautiful golf courses I’ve ever played on, and the price was amazing. The greens were in wonderful shape. Everything was in very good shape. The staff was amazing, friendly accommodating the rental rental clubs were good the course is challenging. A lot of the par fours are long and they play uphill but the views are breathtaking everywhere you look you feel like you’re just in the middle of a movie set in Paradise, I can’t wait to play there again and would highly recommend this course the price compared to what you pay in the states. Unbelievable.
