The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

What a wonderful surprise!
Kona Country Club is a must if you golf in the Big Island! Great layout, very well maintained, greens and fairways in very good conditions. Course is very interesting and greens roll well. Everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Beautiful scenery specially hole 12 which is a par 3 next to the ocean. After our round we ate at the grill. The Poke Nachos were delicious and the view was gorgeous! Food was good and affordable. Definitely will go back!

Great course
Lots of ocean view holes. Moderately difficult but, the greens had been sanded and I wasn't told that when I booked the reservation. I knocked them down on my review. i don't consider that good customer service. Other than that the course is a real gem.

Golf in paradise
Outstanding views, course was well maintained, staff was courteous and helpful. Those greens are treacherous, be prepared for a fair but difficult test of your putting skills!

Excellent Experience
Was concerned about some reviews stating poor rental clubs, bad staff, lacking facilities and felt all were far from the truth. Friendly, helpful, accommodating, good shape equipment. Would have loved to play again if there was more time on my vacation. About half the holes with ocean views. Not overly challenging test but incredibly tricky greens. Played as a single in 3 hours during mid morning.

Great resort course, fun layout, straight forward with some incredible views! Peaceful vibe. Starter might not of been his friendliest but who cares when the breeze and course are perfect and fun. Watch the grain on your putts!!
