The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Beautiful and Challenging
Course is ideal - oceanside on many holes, challenging but playable for "average" golfers. The clubhouse and parking areas show their age and are not what I expected at a "country club," but the course itself is very beautiful, in great condition, and a pleasure to play. Highly recommended!

Nice intermediate priced golf course
Good track, it had three beautiful holes on the water. Greens are nice. When I played in January they were a bit on the shaggy side. Fairways and tee boxes well maintained. Most importantly was lucky to get paired with folks that kept the pace going. 4hour 10 minutes with a 1230pm tee time.
Warmup facility needs improvement. Was nice to get two iced water bottles included but unfortunately no towels on the cart. I rate it 8 out of 10.

Spectacular Views
Course was beautiful, a few ocean side holes with superb views! Crazy cool par 3 on the back over a rock crevas! The staff were excellent, polite, welcoming, informed, everything you could want.
Only negatives, Pace was slow and tee boxes were less than good. Other than that this course gets 5 stars across the board all day.
