The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Beautiful, pesceful course

My husband and I recently golfed here after being away for a couple of years. The course has improved tremendously. It was obvious that a lot of work had gone into improving it. The fairways and greens were in great condition. We are looking forward to returning.

Fix the problems

They need to step up game for the price. Need to fix ice machine, offer some food on course.no towels , carts broken.

Fun Course, Great Location.

Had a great time at Kona Country Club. Played in 2 1/2 hours as a two some.

Course was in great shape and the greens were rolling true and fairly quick. This is a fun, playable course and very accessible from Kona.

The staff is very friendly and great to deal with.

Unfortunately the ice machine has not been working for a bit and it takes a long time to get replacement items to the island so no ice is available on the carts…plan ahead or ask a favor from the drink cart.

Would always recommend this course to any golfer visiting the Big Island.

Simply gorgeous course.

Don’t miss this one. The course borders the ocean and most holes have a gentle breeze. The greens and fairways are extremely well maintained.

It looks easy, but isn’t. Second time playing it and we’ll be back again.

Be careful booking at 2pm

We booked at 2 pm and they said carts has to be back at 5:45. We made it to hole 14 and headed back. We passed all these golfers still on 15,16,17 and 18. We complained and they said we payed twilight prices and we didn’t. They like to take your money but too bad so sad attitude…
