The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Very nice place for the price and location. Great views and great layout. Only issue was slow play in front of me. Called club house no one came out. Players would jot let me go through, no golf etiquette. Rental clubs good shape Taylormade M2’s. Will play again if I’m there in the future.

Enjoyable Round

We are visiting Hawaii from Seattle Washington area and really enjoyed golfing the Kona course mainly because it had a nice breeze, a little cloudiness and wonderful coolness to help us on our way. We were delighted with the golf and the day we spent at Kona CC and would recommend it to others.

Several holes/fairways next to the ocean

Very courteous and friendly staff (pro shop, golf cart attendant, and starter). Although the greens were recently punched and the fairways sliced, we were pleasantly surprised that the course was in very good condition for play. Wide fairways and beautiful course makes for a wonderful golf outing…

Absolutely beautiful golf course, well maintained, stunning views and lots of wildlife. Challenging greens. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable.

The dining area needs improvement as it doesn't match the same standards of the golf course which we expected. The service was slow on the 15th of April when we golfed there the 1st time as well. The food was just adequate.
