About

The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Convenient location, reasonable rates, good layout

A nice friendly resort type course with many holes winding through residential communities. Short course, not overly challenging but still fun if you pick the right tee boxes. Great course to play as couples. You will still need to hit the ball to proper positions on many of the holes to avoid OB and other hazards and score well. Greens play well, roll true and were moderately fast.

Breezy, Not Easy

Getting to the green is not the issue. The greens are fast and the pins are always in I challenging position. You really have to have that delicate touch when putting. Overall its a nice course and to get it through Tee Off for the price I paid makes me happy.

Rental of clubs

Rentals were Taylormade M2 with graphite shaft. Very old and Driver - fairway metal and rescue all very worn.. Grips in poor condition. Sand Wedge was very poor and not matching set. Putter also very worn. Not worth $55?
