The Ocean Course is one of two championship courses at Kona Country Club. As its name implies, this course has an oceanfront location with views of the surrounding mountains that are home to its sister course, the Mountain Course. The Ocean Course provides an easier, but no less enjoyable round than its sibling. The layout features wide-open fairways and numerous strategically placed sand bunkers. The turquoise waters and black lava outcroppings provide natural hazards. The signature holes are the third and 12th, but one of the most memorable is the 13th hole where during November through March, you can catch a glimpse of a humpback whale. While both Kona C.C. golf courses provide a variety of challenges, the Ocean Course is a gentle, more player-friendly option that still features the same stunning views as the Mountain Course.

Really good course

Challenging but fair course with excellent greens. Wide fairways and a premium on hitting the right shot into the green. Downhill and down grain putts can be treacherous!!

Beautiful views and nice layout.

There are some really nice holes on this course. It is not easy to score low on from the Blue tees.

There is a regular cart attendant. The pace of play was slow at times, but otherwise it was a great experience.

The fairways had some funny bounces, but all greens were in great shape and ran true.

Course o the Ocean

This course has so many holes on the Ocean, beautiful. The course is well maintained. It has enough challenges to keep the golf on their toes.

Being on the ocean there is a breeze on holes to help when it is hot.

The restaurant on site also has good food and amazing views.

Course in good condition with few burn out spots in fairways. Greens in good shape and would hold a well hit approach shot. Played round just under 4 hours. Friendly staff. Ready to play again.

Pretty course

The course was beautiful and Staff very friendly and helpful The downside was slow place pace of play, due to 2 tournaments starting in the morning and no carts available, delaying our start time. Our cart died on hole 9 and they only had one spare cart with a partial charge. Back 9 played much faster and we wound up finishing in under 5 hours.

Course and staff were great. The only issue is the driving range is limited ball flight and no drivers are allowed. Other than that it’s a great place to play. Wish the restaurant was open for breakfast daily
