New community golf in a competitive neighborhood
Master-planned communities have tended to give short-shrift to golf course architects, forcing them into tortured routings with little sense of flow. Much as I’d like to say otherwise, Calusa is not far out of that mold, although Gordon Lewis’ execution of individual holes is good, with plenty of width off the tee and some interesting green shapes that keep things interesting. As is increasingly the case, the course, though brand-new when I played it, was in very fine shape. Time will tell how well it stacks up to neighboring communities and their courses.
Terrible Course and Management – No Rebuttal Necessary
This course is a complete mess. There’s no proper signage anywhere, so you’re constantly guessing where to go, and golf carts get stuck because of poor layout. On top of that, the golf pro came out just to tell us we were doing everything wrong—this was our first time playing here.
To make it worse, every hole on the GPS in the cart showed an advertisement, forcing you to click “go back to golf.” If I wanted to play with a computer, I’d sit at my desk.
No rebuttal necessary. The experience speaks for itself.

Awesome Course!
This course is in awesome shape! Staff is extremely friendly and will definitely return.
Great new addition to the lakewood ranch community
Played this course for the first time in August and was in great conditions. Pace of play was good for a sunday morning. Diffently coming back and playing next year while on town
Lots of construction
Greens firm and sanded, lots of construction going on everywhere. Will be a nice track when it matures.
Always good experience
I've played here 11 times. Staff is great. Conditions are much better than most courses in the area. Prices are reasonable considering no pro shop or permanent toilet facilities, Extra wide fairways keep a quick pace. Tee boxes, fairways and greens in excellent conditions.
Excellent Course
This is a beautiful course, even though it sits in the middle of a lot of surrounding construction. The course is challenging, but not overwhelming. Will definitely play this course again when I am back in this area!!
Not ready for prime-time.
The course really shouldn't be open as the cart paths after the 9th:and 18th we're non-existent, leaving the golfer driving through a dirt construction field trying to find the next hole. The course itself was in good shape but navigating after the 9th hole was brutal
Um, all you have to do is drive straight to the next hole its not a mystery. Beautiful facilities i wish it was closer to my house i would play it every week.
Lots of construction but course is in great shape
How many times are you gonna post this the course is fine just go to the next hole its not a big deal Some peole are never happy i guess
