About
Situated just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, White Pines Golf Club has been a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The club offers two courses, the East and the West. The West Course is longer than the East by 400 yards and considered slightly more challenging. The layout is relatively tight and there is an abundance of trees, which means you'll need to be accurate to do well. The greens are large and challenging with difficult-to-read breaks. There is also minimal, but strategic bunkering along the greensides. The fairways provide plenty of variety with some that are narrow and heavily tree-lined and others that are wide with no trees in sight. The golf course has several challenging holes but it's forgiving enough for beginners to approach with confidence.

Need to change Booking this time of yesr
This is a great course and the staff is always nice. But having 2 hour frost delays and then jamming out groups is ridiculous. We left after 9 which took 3 hours to complete. It seems that frost is pretty normal this time of year, why not stop booing the early tee times, say before 9 AM until 3 days ahead of time so if its supposed to be frost you are not making the rest of us wait 2 hours .We always enjoy the course, but 6 hours is not reasonable. While understanding the course wants all the revenue possible this isn't good, I really hope you might consider my suggestion,

Fun track
I’ve played her 2 times so far. Today we had a 1:10 and didn’t tee off til 140, unfortunately that was the difference between us finishing and having to stop at 16 due to slow play in front and darkness. If the tee was on time I would have given 5 stars all around.

This is our home course , my kids grew here , we walk with them when they play
White Pines Golf Course is our home course . My children grew up on this course . They started coming out here since they were 7 years old and 5 years old when we move to this place . When they play we walked with them as a foursome . We love this place and we thank Kevin a lot for being so accommodating

Terrible Course
Don't come here if you're under a 40 handicap. 5 hr rounds, rangers that are somehow even worse than the usual, greens with brown patches everywhere... please skip.

Great Course But Slow Play
This is a great course that comes at a great price and I would recommend it to all of my friends given the opportunity. The only issue I have each of the 3 times I've played is the pace of place.
I had to walk off today (mid October on a Friday at noon) on the 15th hole and couldn't finish my round as we had already hit 4 hours and there was 2 groups at each tee box the entire day. I saw multiple rangers on the course and they clearly weren't doing their job or able to speed up the pace.

Awful Pace of Play
This is a great course, at a great price but one thing that needs major help is the pace of play. I played at noon on a Friday (mid October) and had to walk off the course on the 15th hole as we were already at 4 hours and had two groups at each tee box. There were multiple rangers out and clearly not doing their job or making an effort to speed up the pace.
Highly recommend the course but hard to play if you are not looking for a 5 hour round.

White Pines East Course
Old fashioned architecture, which I like. Very well kept fairways and greens. Good shots rewarded, bad shots punished. Reasonable distances.

Super slow pace
Every time I play here the place of play is terrible! Very nice course but not worth wait time. Will not be back.
