About
Situated just 30 minutes from downtown Chicago, White Pines Golf Club has been a popular spot for both locals and visitors. The club offers two courses, the East and the West. The West Course is longer than the East by 400 yards and considered slightly more challenging. The layout is relatively tight and there is an abundance of trees, which means you'll need to be accurate to do well. The greens are large and challenging with difficult-to-read breaks. There is also minimal, but strategic bunkering along the greensides. The fairways provide plenty of variety with some that are narrow and heavily tree-lined and others that are wide with no trees in sight. The golf course has several challenging holes but it's forgiving enough for beginners to approach with confidence.

Great round
Was paired with three others and had a great time.. Course was in great shape leaves are all picked up. No trouble finding your ball in the rough, grass was cut close. Staff was friendly pace of play was really good, finished our round in under 3 1/2 hours. No complaints enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather and hit the ball pretty well for the most part. I used to work at this golf course many many years ago on the ground crew. Cool to see how the course is doing now. Would recommendThis course to anyone who wants to play a challenging layout but not so challenging that you can't score well.

Amazing business
White pines is a wonderful course/experience and its a joy every single time I go there. They made it so easy for me to play every day (almost), and enjoy my time spent there. I feel indebted to white pines. Definitely feels like home there

Nice muni
Played the east course twice this fall. Hard to beat for the money. Course sees a lot of play and the conditions weren’t bad , very playable with some challenging holes will make a point to go in season

5 hour round minimum
Absolutely atrocious pace of play. The ranger is completely useless

White Pines West Course - Great Value

Need to change Booking this time of yesr
This is a great course and the staff is always nice. But having 2 hour frost delays and then jamming out groups is ridiculous. We left after 9 which took 3 hours to complete. It seems that frost is pretty normal this time of year, why not stop booing the early tee times, say before 9 AM until 3 days ahead of time so if its supposed to be frost you are not making the rest of us wait 2 hours .We always enjoy the course, but 6 hours is not reasonable. While understanding the course wants all the revenue possible this isn't good, I really hope you might consider my suggestion,

Fun track
I’ve played her 2 times so far. Today we had a 1:10 and didn’t tee off til 140, unfortunately that was the difference between us finishing and having to stop at 16 due to slow play in front and darkness. If the tee was on time I would have given 5 stars all around.
