Could’ve been better
I admired the course layout. It was great, a lot of difficult, target focused holes. Besides that I wasn’t very impressed.
The practice range was mostly weeds and clumps of grass. Any areas with grass was thick as secondary rough.
On the course the ball sat way down in the fairways; like it was in the first cut of rough on any other course of same cost. Missing the greens short usually left balls plugged in the fringe; literally top of ball buried. Lastly, the greens were trash. Saying the green surface was extremely soft is an understatement. It looked like some took a Jack-hammer to the green surfaces. This was probably because even chipping on from the fringe edge would leave huge divots. Never mind the multiple areas on several greens that were straight packed black soil/mud; no grass.
Great course to work on aim. Don’t expect any of your putting practice to show. And aim flag distance for anything inside 175yards, the ball just sits inside a foot of where it lands.
Loads of potential, could have been better.

Not recommended…
Layout was cool, course conditions are not good. Most Greens overgrown with algae and mold. Almost unplayable…

Still my favorite
Challenging course. We were paired with 2 guys that played so slowly though. We were constantly behind play about 20min. The Marshall was nice though.
The course was in good condition however the greens need some work. Very uneven and pitted BUT this course is still my favorite to play.

Average
The greens weren't in great shape and were very slow. Several of the tee boxes were in bad shape. Unless you're playing the tips there are multiple holes where you can't hit driver off the tee. It's a fine course but not worth the price paid.

Pace started good…
2 hours on the front and 3 hours on the back for a total of 5 hours to play 18 holes is sad, even with active monitoring by the ranger. Some golfers just don’t understand the impact they have on other fellow golfers. It would have taken longer but one group decided that they had had enough and left.
Course was in fairly good condition except the Greens. They were spongy, shockingly slow and several unfixed pitch marks. If you don’t know the etiquette then you shouldn’t be playing!

Bang for the Buck
Very nice bang for the buck. While the greens look like they have been through a 12 round boxing match, they actually roll true. The back nine is so picturesque that I would consider it “country club” quality. Overall I had a great time and the pace of play was fantastic. Never had to stop Once to wait.

Challenging but fulfilling
There is no such thing as a flat lie at Heritage. Match that with some tough pin placements and you’re in for a fun filled day. Today was better than most as pace of play wasn’t an issue, it usually is…because the course is challenging and people refuse to play the appropriate tee box. If more people played the white tee, things would move along quicker and make the day more enjoyable for all
Great practice facility with larger greens, and multiple chipping areas. They get crowded though.
Unfortunately no one repairs their divots however not many are hitting the green with their approach shots so there’s that. Some of the tee boxes are more dirt than grass.
It’s a good over all course that is in good shape and will give you a challenge. Go early to avoid pace of play issues, move up a tee box and repair your divot!
