About
Formerly known as Americus Country Club, Griffin Bell Golf Links & Conference Center is situated between Andersonville and Plains. The 18-hole public course is owned and operated by Georgia Southwestern State University. It's a short course at only 6,096 yards from the back tees but it still presents quite a challenge. The layout features small, elevated greens that demand accurate iron shots. Mature trees frame most of the holes and there are strategically placed bunkers lurking beside the greens. Don't be surprised if you end up using every club in your bag. Though accuracy and good course management are essential for scoring well, Griffin Bell is not an overly punishing golf course for high handicappers. The course provides a challenging but fun round that players of all skill levels can enjoy.

the fairways are great and the greens are even better. the fair ways are WIDE open

The course is well maintained by a courteous staff the fairways are are great and the greens are almost excellent
So So Course
Played this course for first time and wondered why it was open. The layout was good and the course was also good but there were two holes the were'nt. The ninth hole was recently converted to a par 3 with very little signage how to find it. The fourteenth hole was closed for rebuilding a drainage problem. The signs posted said to bipass it and if I wanted to play 18 holes to either replay #18 or #9. I would like to revisit in the future to play again when repairs are complete.
This is a beautiful course
I really enjoyed playing Griffin Bell Links. This is a beautiful course & very well maintained. The staff is very friendly & helpful. I will be playing a lot of golf on this course.

Both my 8 yr old and my 16 yr old sons play here competitively. We enjoy the course and down home feel of this place.
Fun Little Course
Played on a nice day in Central Georgia. The course was dry so carry was great which made this already short course even shorter. Nice layout, with a few challenging shots. Most of the challenge was on the greens which were rolling nice but have difficult to read undulations. All in all, a fun 3+ hour round of weekend golf .
Greens
Greens run true and small however helps with short game tremendously

Nice course, nice condition
The fairways and greens were in good condition but for this time of year I was very pleased.
Old School
It was a good course. It had a old style feel to it with the drive way through the trees and no cart paths except at the greens and tee boxes. It could be confusing where to go after certain holes. All in all I enjoyed the course.
This course is a great short course
This course is a challenging short course. The course demands accurate iron shoots, with great touch around the small greens.
