Home to the most famous private club in the world, Georgia is also blessed with a plethora of wonderful public golf courses.
To celebrate those playgrounds, GolfPass releases a Top 25 Public Golf Courses in Georgia every year thanks to YOU. We create our annual Golfers' Choice lists by curating the reviews submitted by everyday golfers. We use GolfPass' Ratings Index logic that weights newer reviews and combine it with a course's subcategory averages.
Each course needed at least five reviews and at least some public tee times to qualify. Most of the best public golf courses in Georgia are championship layouts with driving ranges and all the necessary amenities to compete with private courses. Famous pros like Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods and other green jacket winners love golf in the Peach State.
We make our Golfers' Choice best-of lists user friendly. Simply click on the photo of each course to learn more about the facility or to book a tee time (in most cases).

What they're saying: "Course has some amazing Mountain Views from holes 1, 10, and 17 to name a few holes. The dramatic elevation changes have to be seen to be believed and the 17th has to be one of the most difficult and most gorgeous holes in Georgia. Jim Fazio designed a masterpiece in the Georgia Mountains that is a must play for any golfer." hornedwoodchuck -

Achasta Golf Club
Green fee: $100-$120
What they're saying: "This course was in great shape and different than other courses nearby. Relatively flat with wide open fairways, which allows you to open things up; but bombers beware, the risk reward is staying in the fairways. The rough, although not too deep, will certainly add a stroke to your score. Placement of traps in just the right places and covering some water made it a challenge within itself. I will be back." - bellasdad33 -
