One of the best!
This course was v challenging, but in a fun round with the unique course layout. The staff was excellent letting my father (who does not play bc back surgery) ride along with me to enjoy. Most days are windy, making it more of a challenge. Also have great cart amenities (range finder, course booklet etc).
Great Chicagoland Course
Enjoyed the course very much. The course has many challenging holes. Will be back again this year.
“Let it go...lf Let it go...lf.”
“Frozen” at Balmoral Woods, I was “Elsa” today because I played golf alone marching against snow rain and howling wind but “the cold never bothered me anyway.” Despite taking off white gloves to deliver magic, I ended up shooting snowman (8) on many holes. Thus, at the last hole, I looked more like “Olaf” than“Elsa.”
Yes, the course was super fun even on bad weather. With the right amount of hills, creeks, and lakes, water drained well and I had no trouble walking the course with pull cart. The course starts easy and ends easy. The real roller-coaster fun begins from 7th hole and lasts until you reach 17th hole.
I’d like to thank Balmoral Woods staff who not only opened the course in bad weather but also allowed me to play golf. The staff was very friendly and seemed to understand what the love of golf is.
Return after 20 yrs
Used to play here with father in law
Now with my son job law and son
Course was in perfect shape
And as interesting as I recall
Only issue was ranger should have been around
We had 4some with two adults raking notes
Repeating shots
Had people in back if us thinking it was us
Asked then to Play thru and didn't but kept hitting into us
Basically the group if six should have been split start
3 carts and six on hole aggravating on dat over 90 when we had to wait
Balmoral Woods continues to be one of the hidden gems of the Southern Suburbs. On the day I played, the course was in excellent condition; fairways well manicured and the greens rolled fast and true. I am reluctant to say just how great a deal the course is because I don't want it to become too difficult to get a tee time. However, I will say if you have not played the course before or if it has been some time since you played it last I recommend you make a tee time and come on out.
Great layout
I love this course. It plays hard for my current skill level, but it isn't out of reach. A lot of really interesting holes.
Beautiful
I love this course! It has great character and interesting holes. A lot of fun and very challenging!
I will be back
Fun course-always challenging but fair. Greens putted true. Love the large oak trees scattered every where. That's why i go back.
Balmoral Woods - A Tough Course
I hadn't played this course in about 25 years. It hasn't changed as it is a difficult course, especially if you are a 19 handicap as I am. Too many holes in my game to score well for 18 holes, although I played poorly on the front nine, I recovered and played more to my handicap on the back nine. It is a challenging course, but I still recommend it to those looking to be challenged.
Long short course
I was paired with a threesome and the staff did everything to help us enjoy our round, getting us off early. We looked at the score card for the yardage from each tee, and remarked that it was fairly short, but wind conditions kept us at the white tees. Then we started to question the total yardage as, we were playing some long par 4s and I believe 4 par 5s on the front. The back was gracefully shorter. Turns out when they moved the clubhouse there was no way to route the course in any other configuration. Club house was big and very clean and the staff was very welcoming.
This is one of the best courses in the Chicagoland area. When you consider course layout, course conditions/maintenance, course amenities and value. One of the best. Book a round
