2017
Course was in great shape, Greens are fast and undulating making even three footers are a challenge.
Good round
We played after we've had quite a bit of rain and the course handled it well. I we had a newer golfer with and he struggled a lot with the course
Balmoral Woods in the rain
I've always like the course, and the new ownership is doing a fine job of maintaining the course
Love the challange
Played on extremely windy day, even had trouble keeping the ball in place but had a great time. Not crowded, pace of play was great.
Great Track
The course is always in excellent condition and the staff is professional and friendly.
I am disappointed with golfnow with respect to their rule change whereby you cannot use your rewards points unless you book 3 days in advance. The hot deals are published 3 days in advance, therefore, the rewards points are useless.
Good value, challenging course
My first round at Balmoral Woods occurred on a windy, warm spring day in mid-April. The course conditions were appropriate for the time of year. I ended up hitting approach shots into two greenside bunkers, one had fluffy sand, the other was completely hard packed The course is walkable, but it is hillier than any course I've yet played in the greater Chicago area. The staff was friendly and the value was good.
this course plays longer then it looks, didn't help it was still wet in spots. inside help not to friendly or sharp. outside staff was great. starter and ranger very helpful.
1st time
I had heard about course for many years & we decided to give it a shot. Fun and challenging course. Well worn, but not necessarily in a bad way. Mature course is probably the way to put it. Not a high end course, but we'll come and play again since the location works well for myself & my golf partner.
Autumn Golf
October Golf is fun , but we had wet conditions all week and the course was still a little wet. The greens were in good shape .
I love playing Balmoral
This course is always a challenge. Plays a lot longer that it looks on the card. greens are always well kept and rolled. Lots of challenging holes.
tough layout
It was bad enough that the course was tough... so was the guy in the pro shop. There was a 5some and 2 4somes on #1 when we arrived for our tee time...asked to go to 10, one guy said yes...another guy told us NO you have to wait and it will be 4-5 hours... it was 4+ hours
Excellent course
Extremely well kept for all the rain the course has taken in.
Slow play
We started behind seven foursomes of twenty somethings that had no regard for pace. Course Mgt. did nothing about it. So after nearly 4 hours of waiting to hit every shot, we quit after 14 holes. Very disappointed.
Extremely Wet and Challenging
Balmoral Woods is one of the finest courses on the south side. The day we played, the course had been pounded with rain and was saturated, which was no fault of the course. It was cart path only, for obvious reasons. There was an outing in front of us of 28 young men, who were somewhat intoxicated. Play was pretty slow. The Pro was quite nice and allowed us to re-route ourselves midway through the round so that we would not play behind the group, which was a nice gesture. We were paired up with a very nice guy named Tom from Tinley Park, who was a pleasure to play with. I want to go back soon when the course is dried out.
awesome layout
Greens were in great shape and very fast. Love the elevation changes and layout of course. Fairways were also in really nice shape. Course is definitely more difficult than alot of courses in the area. Bunkers could use a touch of work, but overall great bang for your buck.
Balmoral Woods doesn't disappoint
I booked a tee time with hot deals for $22. I absolutely love this course. The staff is always so cordial. The course is in pristine condition. Greens were difficult as usual. Great course!
Must play!
One of my favorite courses so when I can find a hot deal I jump on it ! Great layout and usually a good pace of play.
I was the one that you spoke to. I was merely explaining that it was going to take you 4-4 1/2 hours based on the amount of players on the course. Did you expect to play in 3 hours when we had over 80 players on the course? If their was a five some, m
