Golfer Reviews
Only one coarse issue
Bunkers are beyond bad. Large stones and very little sand. Being in a bunker is bad enough. Having very little sand is even worse. Try to hit a sand shot and the club hits clay 1/2 inch below surface, club skids, you either end up blasting it across the green or you don't get out at all.
Enjoyable Experience!
Redtail is a beautiful course. It is well maintained and has a courteous, efficient staff. The value I received was outstanding! I definitely will return.
Relaxing day!
Golfed a round with my brother-in-law. One additional player was added to our tee time. Overall, good day of golf. My background in golf: former assistant superintendent.
Moderate nice course for L to Mid H.
Moderate but all hole has own style. High H not suitable. But Mid to H enjoyable. I like this course always. Only problem no sand on bunker.
Great value
Can't beat the value of this course. Lengthy, challenging, fun.
Difficult course, some narrow fairways.
Grey course lots of fun, can be very punishing course if you miss the fairways.
Stay out if the sand
Overall the course is in good shape. The greens roll consistent and pretty true and the fairways are solid. The play is light so the round moves quickly. My major concern is the sand - and there is lots of it. It's very coarse (think cat litter) and has lots of stones in it. We played after some rain the day before and it was almost unplayable. You could not get your club under the ball which made any hope of getting up and down from a trap around the green wishful thinking.
Best course in the northwest suburbs!
The course is immaculate. Pristine conditions everywhere you look. Tee to green the course is beautiful!
Keep it in play
Lots of protected woodlands, so keep it in play and you can score well.
diamond in the rough
Redtail has always been one of my favorite Chicagoland values. A 38 mile drive from the city, but is worth. I really like the lay out of the course and all the nature that you can experience.
Great course
Great course for a beginner player. Challenging but not too easy. Greens are easy to read and the course is well maintained. Price seems a little high but will play again
Layout keeps you very interested
Chris and his staff are excellent. Course layout very good, you wont fall asleep. Two island greens that are fair but challenging. Very good value for the money.
Course vacant -Cold day
Still cold/windy and it's May!
Played solo in 2.5 hours.
Three holes cart path only.
Greens good.
Fairways choppy and soft, BUT to be expected with recent rains and never ending winter.
Gotta good Hot Deal.
Top prices to pay here are; $33 weekday, $40 weekend.
