Scenic but very tight.
Wish this course had more forgiving rough areas. Several of our shots were hardly off the fairway yet were completely lost. One ball we lost on the rough just before the fairway on a dogleg because it was so overgrown. Always impressed with the elevation changes and scenery but the punishment for hitting a ball left or right is way too high. Wish it was more open so we could enjoy our round more. With our somewhat skilled golfing crew we were, we had way too many lost balls.
Innsbruck
Great N GA mountain layout. Spectacular views. Challenging, undulating greens.
Average round
Its a mountain course there are a lot of elevation changes. Pretty tight. Lots of uphill approaches where you can't see the bottom of the pin.
excellent staff
Conditions were wet but marshall came oround and advised of holes that were dry, Excellent customer relations
rough fairways
We got a great price on GolfNow and it is just over an hour away so let's go. The course is okay. The fairways are pretty rough and need a trimming. I couldn't tell where the cut line was for the fairways. The greens were in terrific shape. There is no straight shots on the greens but all were nice. We went early to hang out in Helen a little while but that was a bust. Helen is not what it used to be. We will certainly play again.5/27/1
Great layout in need of professional attention...
No starter; no marshalls - a clue of course management. The course layout is sensational, BUT fairways are erratically kept; often weeds rather than grass. The greens do not offer true rolls, traps have occasional lumps of sand, and tee boxes are not maintained. Grass/weeds are not routinely cut and cart paths look like they are in repair - for months.
CHALLENGING, PRETTY, MOUNTAIN COURSE
NOT A COURSE FOR BEGINNERS. MOSTLY NARROW FAIRWAYS, HILLY, HITTING UP AND DOWN THE HILL. A FEW FUN, DOWN THE HILL PAR THREES. OVERALL GOOD EXPERIANCE, HILLY BUT PRETTY MOUNTAINS TO LOOK AT AS WELL AS LAKES AND STREAMS TO CROSS. PLAN FOR LOOSING MORE BALLS THAN USUAL.
I love the elevation change.
Stayed in Helen GA 4 years ago played the course for the first time then,It's only 5 minutes away.It is a very fun course to play, just make sure you check your club selection the elevation changes on some of the holes are crazy.
Cart path awful! Fairways need work, Greens good.
Some very scenic holes. Cart path is dangerous. Fairways need work. Greens in very good codition. Appears course is in decline.
Great day. Beautiful scenery.
Play went quick. Not crowded. Whether was perfect . Play was fast. Course is starting to green up. Rainy days have taken a toll. Cart trails need to be resurfaced. On course toilet facilities need maintenance (toilet tissue).
My wife and I really enjoy playing this course.
We really look forward to coming to Helen and playing here. We don't have any course like this in Florida. We enjoy seeing the deer and other wildlife here.
Good Deal, Great Scenery
The North Georgia Mountains make for a great backdrop. The course is challenging with narrow fairways and little room for error due to the dense forestry on either side of most fairways. The greens were in terrific shape but the rest of the course could use some attention. Overall, it was a great drive up to the course and a great deal once we got there. Would definitely recommend it!
Greens good, Fairways fair, cartpaths terrible
The greens were in better shape than my last visit. The fairways were not too bad, except I hit a rock in the ground with my six iron. Kind of upset me since it was not visible to the eye until after I took a divot. The cartpaths need extensive repair work. I had some minor surgery about six weeks ago and I thought my incisions would open up again on some of the cartpaths. The fairways were much smoother than the cartpaths.
Great Mountain Course
Great golf course. Challenging but still able to score. #15 is a great par 3 with a heck of an elevation change.
Beautiful course with some maintenance issues.
This is a beautiful course and the greens are in good shape, however, the cart paths are in terrible condition. A positive is the staff. They are friendly and efficient.
A natural beauty in the GA mountains that's really fun to play and where you're likely to see as many deer as other golfers.
A challenging but fair and really fun course to play with tree lined fairways, significant changes in elevation, doglegs and water hazards, where you're rewarded for keeping your ball in play by playing within your ability. A lazer or GPS may prove helpful on a few of the holes. Pick up a few of their fifty cent ball mark repairers, they work great!
Golf with Altitude
This course is truely magnificent. A great challenge with some picture book Holes. A real test for any standard of Golfer
The was a very challenging course
Nice course was in very good shape. Even in horrible weather it was still a great course and I will be returning.
Beautiful Mountain Course
Very picture x. Very challenging and narrow fairways.
Quick Pace of Play
Since a thunderstorm had chased most everyone away, I arrived an hour later and completed 18 holes in about 2 and 1/2 hours in the early evening. The greens were rolling great after the rain, but some of the lower lying areas tend to collect a lot of water when it rains. Also, a few of the holes are honestly too narrow in some of the fairways when compared to the distance required off of the tee. I'd like to see some of the tall grass in those areas mowed down to where you have a chance of finding your ball if your drive goes a little awry. Would also like to see some changes to the par 5s that play uphill. Very difficult to stop a ball on the greens due to the slopes.
