Shot makers course
Wow this is a challenging course that forces you to make smart golf decisions. You could probably only hit driver twice off the tee and feel good about your decision when the round is over. Loved it. Want to play again ASAP
Seems like they stopped caring out there
Course was in poor condition, tee boxes were terrible and the pin placements were a joke. This used to be a nice facility but it is no longer well maintained. I guess you get what you pay for.
Great Track - Sketchy Greens/Bad Pin Positions
Unfortunately for the rest of the season I can't recommend playing Mill Creek. They haven't aerated their greens yet but the playing conditions on the greens at the current time just aren't worth the trouble. The course has a lovely layout with several challenging holes but this day the greens were slow, bumpy. sketchy downright extremely inconsistent. The under $30 green fee including hot dog, chips and soda somewhat made up for the conditions but when this course has their greens right it's a really fun good value play. As previous recent reviews have indicated there were several holes where the pin positions were less than legal - the flags on #3, #4, #5 and #6 were approx 8 feet from the edge of the green. In addition there were several holes where the blue tees were combined with the black tees at the further back (tips) which slowed play considerably because this course has trouble/forced carries all over the place...the white tees were a lot of times placed with the red tees. I realize with the very dry weather we've experienced recently the course is trying to save tee boxes and greens I'll give them a break but again can't recommend that you visit until next season once the grass grows again. We had a nice day - current conditions 2.5 stars....previous reviews I've rated Mill Creek at least a 3.5 or even a 4 depending on the conditions of the greens which are a lot of fun when they are right.
Wednesday turn off
Second Wednesday and second time with bad pin placements although not as many totally ridiculous pins as last time. If I play again, I'll try a different day.
What a great deal!
Took advantage of Hot Deals on Golf. Now and two of us played 18 holes with a cart for a total cost of $30. $12 each and $6 processing fee on-line. The course is in great shape. it is not a long course, but it is challenging and you will use every club in your bag. The greens were undulating and bunkers were nice. I was amazed at the value and the challenge. You will lose some balls on your 1st time playing the course. Some hidden water and waste areas are in play on a lot of holes. Will definitely play Mill Creek again. Out twosome finished 18 holes just under 3 hours.
PIN PLACEMENT NIGHTMARES
TEE TO GREEN, COURSE WAS GREAT. PIN PLACEMENT WAS TERRIBLE. SOME ONLY 2 FEET FROM EDGE OF GREEN, MORE THAN HALF AT TOP OF MAJOR SLOPE OR PEAK. GROUP I JOINED DECIDED TO DECLARE A TWO PUTT ON EVERY GREEN LIKE THAT. LATER FOUND OUT IT WAS THE LAST DAY OF WORK FOR THE INDIVIDUAL WHO PUT OUT PINS THAT DAY. TEED OFF AT 8:30 AND WHEN WE FINISHED WERE TOLD A DOZEN OTHERS HAD COMPLAINED AS WELL BUT THEY HAD NOT STARTED TO FIX THE PROBLEM. WILL GIVE THEM ONE MORE SHOT BUT THIS REALLY SOURED ME ON THE COURSE
Wacky pin placement
This was great value for the money. Course was in very good condition but the pin placements were crazy, certainly not legal if there was a real competition going on. That said, we enjoyed the round.
Great deal
Good course to work on ball placement. Definitely not a grip it and rip it course. Greens are usually in good shape and with exception of a few holes have less break than it appears. Overall a good course with good staff and a great deal.
Solid Round for the price
Good amenities, nice clubhouse, grass practice range, chipping and putting green. Teed off just after noon on a Sunday, pace of play was great until about the 6th, paired up with some locals then and it slowed a bit, still got 18 in 4.5 hrs. Course could use some work, very uneven and crowned tee boxes, fairways had some rough and bare spots as did greens. Greens are undulating and tough, 3 putting is easy to do. Overall nice round because it was only $33
Mill Creek
Got a great deal on golfnow.com, paid $12.00, couldn't pass at up. The course when it first opened up was in pristine condition, sadly that is no longer the case. The greens were overgrown and bumpy, a few greens had ruts in them. Lack of yardage markers also somewhat frustrating since carts are not equipped with GPS. The actual layout of the course is fun and interesting, lot of variety and it will test your game.
What went wrong
This used to be a very good course with great greens.
For the last month and a half it has gone down hill fast.
Greens are extremely unevenly cut and long. Looks like mowers are adjusted on an angle.
I feel real bad since this course used to be consistently in such good shape.
If you score a Golf Now deal the layout is still interesting
What happened?
This course used to be one of my favorites a few years ago. Took 3.5 hours to play 12 holes (bailed after that), no ranger in sight the whole day, no beverage cart on a hot Friday, and course was in abysmal condition. Tee boxes were overgrown, sand was concrete, Fairways were beat up, and putts bounced more than they rolled. Probably one of the most disappointing golfing experiences I've ever had. In all fairness, $30 per person including cart is a solid deal for less serious golfers, yet the course in its current state can no longer accommodate anyone under a 30 handicap. I know Arcis doesn't believe in spending money on their courses, and it really shows here. Many other places nearby that are far better courses for similar value.
Course has a lot of character.
Different elevations, putting was difficult. Very interesting and challenging course.
