Mill Creek
First time playing here. Course is tight! Houses are close on several holes, lucily I didn't hit any :). The course stretches through a very nice neighborhood and is a very long walk. Not impossible by any means, just longer than most. Course was in really nice condition and fun to play. Pace of play was slow, especially for a weekday.
This course is in bad shape.
I have played here several times before. And I always thought it was in great condition. But, right now, the condition of the course is very poor. All of the tee boxes were very hacked up. Obviously leftover from last year. Like they never touched them since last year. Lot of big dirt patches in the fairways. No water in the ball washers. Some ball washers were not even installed yet. No starter on the first tee. Everyone just took off whenever.
Good Value for the Money, Quick Saturday a.m. pace
For $35 this is one of my favorites in the western burbs. Played as a twosome teeing off at 6:30 am, done by 9:30 am.
Excellent conditions, extremely friendly staff, fast play...excellent value!

Greens are in terrible shape
I booked a foursome there and it was $45.00 a guy which for April is a bit high compared to some of the other deals out there, but for 45 I did not expect every green to be damaged and bumpy. The cost should have been no more then $30.00 pp with the shape the course was in. I will play here again, but probably not until July when hopefully the greens are repaired.
Great Value course
good course, pretty easy. great value for the $. nice putting green, practice area is above average
Good bargain
A bargain when under $30 this course can be tight, tricky, and challenging. This is true even from the white tees , not long but fair, with enough trouble on all shots to eventually force you into a big number as it'll wear you down, and punish a miss hit.. It will promote perseverance and emotional control as you try to stay consistent. A good design that can get u ready for that big event, or journey to a high priced course on vacation. It winds through a neighborhood in Geneva and can be slow during peak times. When course conditions are a problem I'll move or roll my ball and just keep going. It's the kind of course that takes multiple playings to learn and will sharpen your skills, and as you move back to the blue tees (some forced carries and blind shots) or a tee further back, plenty of challenges await you as you get better.
Harsh winter
Well,
considering the kind of weather we have been dealing with in Illinois this year, overall condition of the course weren't so bad. Greens definitely need to be rolled but it was playable and was ok for the first round of golf of the season. I will check this place out during the summer as it has some challenges that make it interesting to be played at. I will definitely come back in the future although is a bit of a hike form me (45 miles from my house).
Short course yet good challenge.
Must keep drives in play with some very tight fairways. Key to scoring here is good iron play. Many greens are very undulated, some with 3 levels. Poor putters should stay home. A few par fives required lay ups due to hazards.
Greens were terrible
For 25$ not bad but they could of let us know that course conditions were awful before we got the tee time
Course not exceptionally long @ 6200 yards from the back tees.
Links style is very challenging w/ water on some holes.
Course is not easy and for the normal golfer bring 2 sleeves of extra balls.
I've played Mill Creek several times and finally took a real good look at the holes this time. I worked hard to shoot a 91, meaning the course is a target course. Very tight in spots, tiered greens, but for those that like a challenge, play this course now for what they are charging. Great value, Just bring lots of balls.
Nice experience.
I was surprised I could only use driver on 4 holes. I think the biggest weakness is the sand traps. However I was glad to hear in the bar after the round that the sand traps are a priority for next year. It is unfortunate the original layout had to be altered. I think people who buy a house on a golf course and then are surprised there house gets hit by golf balls are idiots! I should not be told on the 10th tee that hitting an iron is mandatory! All things considered playing the course was a good experience, but the food was better. I wish the bartender Kevin was not leaving, he was great!
Course is very challenging.
Course is very challenging for the average golfer. Too many blindshots with unexpected hazards. Requires playing course often to get a feel of the layout. Recommend purchasing the yardage book for $3.00...carts should have GPS.
Target golf in a subdivison
The course feels short. A driver is needed for maybe 1 or 2 holes. The undulating protected greens were in great shape. I would go back a few times a year but it seems pretty far out west for most of Chicago. The houses that lined the course were close but surprisingly were not in the way of the occasional errant shot. Sunday golf in Chicago can be long. However, the pace of play seemed tolerable. Lots of rangers keeping things moving. This was appreciated.
No sand in the traps. Nothing to even rake.
The greens were ok at best (lots of unrepaired ball marks)
The traps had very little sand in them, and what sand was there, was crusted over. One trap had a rake in it, but it could barely be seen in the weeds.
Challenging course
Very nice layout and challenging holes. Fairways and greens in good condition. Very slow play, although it was a Holiday weekend. Would go back.
would reccomend but only if you get a discount
The course has seen a lot of play the tee boxes need lots of help as do the fairways -even though they provide divot fillers on carts nobody seems to use them-hack marks everywhere some looked like somebody was using a shovel instead of golf club-greens were just ok-again ball marks-lost count of the # I repaired-Was glad we had the Golfnow discount would have been disappointed if we had paid full fare-Also sign by clubhouse door said voted best course in Kane county-must have been only course nominated
Course was watered too heavy, pace of play slow!
I did not enjoy the course because of the pace of play.
great course, but difficult layout
we had a good time, and the deal was great for a sunday AM from golf now
