City Club Marietta

This was our first time playing City Club Marietta, and we really enjoyed it. The course is not too long, which helps for those of us at or near retirement. It has rolling hills, a few holes with water, and a nice layout. The greens were a bit beat up, probably due to a lot of recent rain and hot temps. We are looking forward to going back now that we know the course.

Beautiful setting - right off. Marietta square so great location for some fellowship and refreshme

Fun course. Good layout with interesting holes. Greens smooth and enjoyable. Some divots in fairways need filling. Beverage cart service excellent and friendly. Need a ranger to speed up groups that may lag behind. Overall, an enjoyable day and I would not hesitate to return.

Played Saturday at noon and Monday at 10. It was between my house and my buddy’s hotel in Atlanta, so perfect location for us. Saturday the pace was what you’d expect for a pretty Saturday in June. The fairways were great and the greens weren’t bad either. The course is fairly short, only calling for driver on about 3 holes. Loved the GPS in the carts. Monday was disappointing. Got to the course early to hit the range, but was told it was closed due to cutting schedule. Although it is understandable, this should be posted online/GolfNow. When I asked the pro (or whoever took my payment) for a bucket he was extremely rude about it. I booked out of convenience, but I won’t be booking again if I can find something else.

While the course was short, there are challenging holes that require accuracy over distance. The course was in good shape and the pace was fine after a group let us play through.

This course has good challenging holes especially the back nine water holes.

Played there this past week and this course was fantastic! The greens and fairways were beautiful. You can tell they have really up'd their game at this course. It rained on us for about 10 mins but the rest of the day was nice. GPS in the cart's give you a flyover of the hole and distance to the hole on all shots. I really enjoyed it! I'll be back

I chose the perfect day to play just before a forecast of five consecutive days of rain. The course and greens are in impeccable shape. Because of the forecast, we managed to finish up 18 holes 40 minutes ahead of schedule. i was matched up with a perfect gentleman from the UK and we share a great experience of golf and talking (while we played golf). I used GolfNow to get an amazing discount on my round of golf which made it all the better.

I only played 8 holes due to the poor place of play and flying golf balls from other fairways without anyone yelling “fore”. There was no Marshall around. The staff at the course were very unfriendly. The Fairway were like cow pastures, but the greens were fair. It will be a while before, I play that course again.

First, let me say that this sort of course has its place. It provides a more than adequate place for someone to experience the game of golf at a very reasonable price. However, that said, I personally won't be rushing back here.

I played here in a Charity event and found the course to be deficient in a number of areas - sparse grass on the tee boxes, very patchy fairways with plenty of weeds and bumpy greens. The course was also very short. If fear a lot of golfers coming here for the first time might leave disappointed. However, for the occasional and/or budget conscious golfer, The City Club of Marietta might well satisfy their needs.

The course is fun and challenging with some water and rolling hills and dog legs. The greens were in decent shape for this time of year but the speed was inconsistent green to green. One of the tee boxes was nothing but sand and most of the tees needed work. There is a lot of patchy grass spots in and off the fairway, but again it is only mid April. The practice tees are mats and I think if you charge what this course does, you should have grass practice tees.

Staff was extremely nice. Good value. Only criticism was a group in front of us was holding us up and also hiding up the 3 groups behind us. No Marshall or employee was out to help move them along.
