Seen it better
In airation process on back nine at the time we played , some greens looked bad although they rolled better Than they looked. Otherwise everything was good, still was a good price for city club !
Good if supereior Greens are not a factor.
The course is in good shape and the price is reasonable on GolfNow. You will be disappointed if you are looking for Good "True" rolling greens. This course gets a lot of play from people that obviouly do not have the proper golf etiquette to repair divots. They are extremely soft so the greens are hacked up all over and you pay for it when putting. It"s a decent course overall.
The course is in good shape.
Not a long course but fairly tight with changing elevations. The greens were good. Has some short par fours that make it fun. The carts have a GPS that is Very helpful. Doesn't have a high slope rate but fun to play.
Maybe the Best Public in Atlanta
City Club Marietta vs. Cobblestone is a difficult comparison. City Club has GPS Golf Carts, a dramatically better clubhouse, gorgeous mountain views, and is a bit more forgiving for beginners. Cobblestone has immaculate fairways and greens, gorgeous water views, and can be very, very challenging.
I find myself playing City Club more often, mostly because I'm not all that good so the lower Slope helps, but also because it's simply a great, gorgeous course that is fun to play and practice at. If they had a club membership fee for annual discounts, I would pay it.
Golf course review
Interesting layout, very short course. Fairways were in average shape but the greens were terrible. Slow, dead spots everywhere and on every hole at least 5-10 un-fixed ball marks.
nice course. had some difficult holes. has a lot of character. Water, bunkers, and of course woods.
Humid Day in Marietta
As expected, the course was in great shape and greens were very forgiving - when I could hit 'em! This is quickly becoming one of my go-to courses.
nice course that gets a lot of play
this is one of the courses in my weekly rotation for post work twilight rounds. The course has been in great condition this year. Only issue I have is that there are few courses in the area so the course is very full...so pace of play is a struggle most afternoons. I cannot blame the staff just lack of courses in the area to play on.
Very Good Value
I enjoy this course and try to play there once a week. It was originally built as a "resort course" that leaves you feeling good about your game. It does this although has a few testy holes that are quirky and test your ability to plan shots and play smart.
Staff Friendliness/Unprofessional and Rude
Today was a excellent day until the group I was playing with met Dave, City Club Marietta Professional golf Instructor. Terrible experience at 18 HOLE. Dave need to read PGA Golf Professional’s Code of Ethics. City Club Marietta Professional golf Instructor is extremely unprofessional and need to Remember we are all HUMAN BEINGS and deserve to be treated as such. I wouldn't have anyone working in my company like Dave that talk the way he did to golfers about riding on the 18 fairway.
Got a rain check was not treated well
I played 9 holes in and it started raining and got a rain check. I went to play the next day the other 9 holes and they wanted to charge me full price. I had to speak to a manager and then they finally let me go out and finish the round. Back 9 was in great shape and overall had a good time but did not feel the staff put the customer first.
Great fairways and greens!
Other than a very worn out cart with great GPS, and some rough edges in landscaping this course is a secret worth remembering. Caution! There are few if any storm shelters on the course. If lightning approaches you should head for the barn. With some real sprucing up, especially cart path landscaping and clubhouse entrance and new carts, this course could be a remarkable layout and experience.
We are happy you enjoyed the course. We are constantly working to improve conditions and amenities here at City Club and we will have new carts this winter. We look forward to seeing you again.
Group outing
Usually don't like short courses but the price tee times were right for our 2 groups. Roughly $40. Last time the greens had lots of defects but they were in great shape and rolled well this time. Some of the tee boxes could use some work but I thought the course was in good shape. Finished in just over 4 hours.
Good for the price
Course is in good shape. Greens are in good shape. Bunkers have real sand!
Thank you for playing, we are happy you enjoyed your round!
Jason,
We are sorry for the misunderstanding about our raincheck policy. As we have many different rates throughout the day, we issue a dollar credit on rainchecks as opposed to a set number of holes. That dollar amount is then credited to the green fee the next time you play. We are happy that you enjoyed the back nine and we hope to see you again soon.
