This course is getting better
A work in progress. Need to roll greens but def better. Rough could stand to be cut a little shorter in some places. Still better than a year ago. Finish bunker work. Some of the cups seem to be cut at an angle. Flag leaning because of it. Craters that used to be bunkers were uncut. Grass growing in them. Which is fine but tough to come out of because it’s so tall and thick.

Do yourself a favor...
At about 11am on 9-24-21 booked the 109pm tee time. Got there 20 minutes early. There was confusion on the first tee because the 1242pm group didn't show until 1255pm. Starter let them break in line and go. The 1251pm group apparently showed up early and went off about 1230pm per other players who were congregated on the first tee. The starter was a really nice and accommodating guy but he appeared to be lost.
Apparently, the locals at Cotton Fields will book a golfnow time but show up whenever they want. If management does get control of this practice, it will kill the walk up business that is so vital to operational cash flow. It's rude, difficult to manage, and should not be tolerated.
That said, do yourself a favor. The place was formerly owned by Green Valley Golf Group who neglected and nearly killed it. The new owners and staff have done an outstanding job bringing it back. The tees and fairways are in excellent shape. They are letting some bunkers go back to nature which is a good thing. The new greens are definitely smaller than the old ones, but they are coming in nicely and roll great. There are a few rough patches but nothing major. I'd recommend taking out 30-40 trees that impact sight lines and re-doing a few stretches of cart path, but the place is really fun and interesting. There are no dumb holes. $25 on a 75 degree Friday afternoon in Atlanta is a bargain. Super nice people. Just get control of the first tee and the tee sheet. Highly recommend giving it a try. You will be glad you did.

Good Value
Despite all the rain this week the course held up well. They have reduced the size of the greens but they are in good shape. They have given up on their bunkers though.

Havnt played in a while
I was impressed with the changes. Always loved this course, because it close to home and was well maintained. Hadnt played in over a year, but like what they have done. The greens are in good shape, not perfect but much better than what they look like the last time I played them. Notice they have made them a little smaller, which helps in concentrating on keep them up. The fairways are good as well, just not much help if you get off the fairway, would like too see them give you a little relief if you slightly miss the fairway, a first cut would be nice. Notice some of the bunker had been worked on but most of them still needed a lot of work. Did notice a lot of sand in the parking lot so hopefully this will get on the course soon. With all said would play this again. Actually looking to add it to my group weekly play course. Good job with the up keep!!!

Great improvements on the course. Really like tphe the fairway and rough cut outs, greens are much improved but could probably use rolling.

The first par#3
Hole number three is not very friendly to seniors and people with disabilities. I would like to see steps are a ramp at this hole #3.

Looking better
First time I’d been back since reopening, and course looks much better. I definitely agree the rough needs to be shorter. Greens are looking much better, and play better as well. Cart paths need attention still. Will definitely play again.
