Cotton Fields Golf Club, The

Always pleasant staff. Greens are a little rough; sandy, bumpy, but they are coming back. Busy day, full tee sheet, still played 18 in less than 4.5 hours. The county is doing a good job taking care of the course and the players.

A few things. Have been playing this course for over 20 years and its always a great value. Three things stood out. The condition is average at best right now. Greems were rough and it needs some help in some areas. I know this is petty but the cart paths are really rough. Man, there are places it will take your kidneys for a ride. Not really sure if everyone knew the sides had been switched. It was causing some back up on a non busy day because people might not know the sides have switched.

Unfortunately the greens are in bad shape. Some have big bare spots that are bumpy and impossible to put. Pace is painfully slow regardless of the number of people playing. The approach areas before each green are in good shape. Too bad the fairways can’t look that good.

Golf course needs some attention on tee boxes and greens. Liked the layout. Got rained out after 10 holes

The course was a mixed bag, some huge greens and some postage stamps, but all were in excellent condition. Driving holes were forgiving and bad shots weren’t punished too much. The only issue was that the Marshall should’ve come around to speed up the drunk foursome who were hitting the fairway with empty beer cans instead of golf balls. Overall is was great and I’m sure those guys were the exception not the norm.

This course is priced decent considering the conditions. The course is a good and challenging course. Lots of trees and water next to almost every hole.

Would be nice if the greens were better taken care of.

The greens are still thin, but not plugged and better than most in the area by far. Narrow fairways that demand reasonably accurate driving. One thing that could stand improvement is direction to the next tee, because on several holes it is confusing. Like the course.

Played Cotton Fields the last couple of Mondays. Greens are a little rough but overall the course is fun to play. Wet today and the ball picked up dead grass on the green, picture attached.

When you ask people in the area, "what courses do you play"? they shy away from saying Cotton fields, yet when I go there the parking lot is full. Let me simplify this, people want to be associated with higher priced courses, but their golf game rarely matches what comes out of their mouths. If you want to play golf without emptying your wallet, play here. If you want valet, and some guy cleaning your clubs at the end of the round, go somewhere else, you'll probably improve the pace of play here.

Nice course. When the greens grow in this spring it will be really good. I think the greens are the new hybrid grass lots of resort courses have. Fast and true. Really wet winter means it's not as ready as we'd like at this point, but it won't be long until it's in great shape.

Beautiful day for a good round at a nice course. This course is not overpowering but offers enough challenge to test your game. Whole group shot some low numbers this day.

This is a nice little municipal course! Like every course in ATL they had some issues with all the rain we’ve gotten but overall this course is in great shape. The greens could use some work but the fairways and rough are well cared for here. As long as I’m in bounds I rarely lose a ball here except in the water. Staff is among the friendliest I’ve dealt with. A+!

Course not crowded; greens are in bad shape from all the excess rain. Carts almost new. Fairways are decent.

We were out for a fun day and us three ladies had a great time. Course had good and bad areas, but a lot of the bad were just from all the rain and winter. Enjoy playing there and we will be back. Staff is Great!

They have the ugliest looking greens in the area. But, they play great and roll pure. The layout is good. A good course for all skill levels.

The greens are really bad right now. Like putting on concrete. A lot of tight lies and the sand bunkers should be closed. Good snacks and an excellent friendly staff. The back nine is now the front nine which makes the coarse move along quicker. Good hot deals on tee times though.
