Frustrating
Upside: Accessible location and value price, not long but undulations on greens and water hazards will provide the challenge. Downside: No range and there are more appealing Nugent designs. The course is very claustrophobic both with proximity of adjacent holes as well as residences on the periphery.
The staff is friendly. There seems to be an honest effort toward maintaining conditions. There are notes in the carts to remind about fixing ball marks and divots. However, the clientele needs to follow those directions. They also need to learn to not pick up balls that do not belong to them.
Given that I go in with zero expectations for golf on a holiday, I was not disappointed.
4:15 pace was good but we went off very early. Really wish I could recommend, but I would not want another round like this.
Golf Marshalls
They did nothing to assist speeding up play. The group in front of us was playing the tips and should of been playing the ladies tees. Guess that is what happens when you are "puffing" during the majority of their 18 holes.
Chilly Friday Morning
Course was in great shape, greens holding but fast. Most enjoyable round and will recommend this course to friends!!
think your way around
Nice course and we'll maintained. Other reviews said bunkers were bad but the one I was in was fine. Lots of lakes to navigate but not too many forced carries. You can avoid most all of them with reasonably straight shots of 150 - 200 yds. Lots of iron or hybrid tee shots but you will use your driver too. You can really score here if you are smart and can hit it straight. Pay attention to the yardages on the card or a gps. If you spray it all over, maybe choose a different course.
Glendale lakes
Really enjoyed the course but wish the back 9 was as nice as the front! Also I believe the price was a little high!!
Great conditioned course
It's been about 10 years since I played here. My memories were an ugly second hole around a lake, and back to back par 3s on the back 9. Well, the second hole is improved and a good looking hole now. The greens were some of the best I've played this summer. Played on an an early Saturday morning (6:40am) and played in 3 hours. Really. The few groups ahead all played at a good pace. Enjoyed it.
Great Value
The Golfnow hot deal was $16 a great value for 18 holes with cart. The greens were in excellent condition, but slow. The sand traps were the worst I've seen all year. The tees were long and needed to be cut. I fixed about 4 ball marks per green so they need to remind their customers to repair their ball marks. There is lots of water so you need to be straight off of the tee.
Beware 2,3, and 4
Holes 2,3, and 4 pose problems and require good judgement and a calm approach.
A real sleeper
Have not played in 15 years. They have really turned this course around. Greens are very good shape and fast the day I played.
Front nine builds your confidence then the back is much tougher.
Only negative I can think of is sands traps need much work. If you stay out of them you will thoroughly enjoy the course
Outstanding Value
Booked through GolfNow excellent price /value relationship. Staff always professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Great experience.
Glendale WOW
I really enjoyed playing golf on the course
It was very challenging a person needs to play it often to learn the corse, it really teaches you how to layup and not go for the long shot the water hazards will get you But had a great time can't wait to play it again
GREENS
THERE SHOULD BE A WAY WITHOUT CALLING THE COURSE THAT WHEN ANYONE BOOKS A COURSE VIA YOUR SITE THAT THE CUSTOMER SHOULD BE NOTIFIED OF ANY AERATION OR ANY CHANGES ON THE COURSE. I WOULD HAVE BOOKED A DIFFERENT COURSE. VERY DISAPPOINTED
The Pro said ,"The course is in good shape".
What??? We got to the 1st green and it had been Aerated , as well as the other 17 holes. The Bunkers hadn't been groomed for at least 3 days. A majority of the bunkers were either all clay or had standing water in them. The right front bunker on the par 3 #16 was FULL of water. My partner hit her tee shot in the bunker, and when we got to the trap, the water was so murky and deep, she couldn't see the ball to retrieve it. One would think that we would have been notified of these conditions at check-in!!!!!
I would suggest that Golf Now would not offer this course to their customers for at least 4-6 weeks.
