Brazell's Creek Golf Course has a unique layout that is like getting to play two courses in one. Designed by Georgia native Denis Griffiths, the course begins with a parkland-style front nine and then transitions into a links course. The original nine holes, the front nine, are connected to the new nine by a winding 1,500-yard bridge. The player-friendly front nine offers some good opportunities to build up your score before the more challenging back nine, which will test even the most seasoned golfers. The fairways on the front nine are tree lined and narrow but you won't have to deal with the wind, which you'll be confronted with on the longer, tougher back nine. Brazell's Creek Golf Course's signature hole is the par-3 15th. This 207-yard hole plays over wetlands to a large, undulating island green.

Two Totally Different Nines

I was pleasantly surprised by this golf course. The "old" front nine winds through trees and creeks with some tight driving holes. Shot placement is premium if you want to score on this nine. The back nine is quite a trip from the clubhouse winding through the woods to a wide open "new" nine. There isn't a single tree on this nine, and is designed like a true links course. With this wide open nine, the wind came more into play. The overall condition was not great for winter, but certainly playable. Would like to give this course a try once again.

Dave

We had great weather and course was not over crowded. Greens were in good shape, but had many ball marks. Plan to go back and play again!

The tale of two nines

Two courses in one. Traditional 9 on the front and links course on the back. The Sunday morning staff is always excellent. Can’t say enough good things about those young ladies. I play here often and always enjoy my round. Sometimes there can be a problem with young kids not having the correct etiquette. But they are young and keeping the game and course going through the future.

Course is decent for time of year but greens do need some attention. Would like a slightly later cart return time but understandable due to daylight savings and staff shortage. Would be nice to see the drink machines return to the back 9.

Taking the guys back

Our group of 7 played 27 today in perfect weather...front, back & front.

The greens are in great shape, although we did average 3 to 4 extra mark repairs per green.

They need a Marshal...lots of unfilled divots in the fairway.

Ran out of sand on the front and no sand jugs at the turn.

The front side is a classic rolling terrain pine tree lined 9 holes.

Pay attention to your tee shot yardages on #5 & #7...too far is trouble.

Lots of dog legs that go one way and the fairways slope the other direction.

The back side is something I want to see in the late spring...South Georgia Links Golf.

Fairways and rough are dormant along with the adjacent hay fields... hard to pick your line when everything is tan in color.

Spent the day aiming at the 150 yd. striped pole

Greens hold approach shots well. Lots of up hill approaches ... add a club.

Looking forward to a return trip.

Great course but slow

This is a great course but a slow one

This doesn’t reflect on the stuff as much as the players

Because of the amount people who take their whole groups with them it becomes annoying with the wait because for some reason a lot of players here do not just say hey you can play through they will watch a single player wait for a group of 8 tee off

Maybe the course Marshall should assist or make designated times for groups larger than 4

Two different courses

Front 9 is what you would expect of a Georgia course. Lots of trees, tricky layout where you really need to position your shots. No water. Back 9 is like Scotland. Wood open, but with tall grass. You better stay in the fairway. You can see every hole and player on the back 9.

Ok course with terrible staff

The course is in ok condition with the greens needing some work, but the staff and policies are atrocious. The back 9 closes at 6, ok, whatever. But then the so called "course marshal" comes up to my group at 5:40 and says that we "won't have time to finish" and that we need to "head back to the front 9. Which, btw, the front 9 closes at 6:30 even though we are in south Georgia in the summer where it doesn't get dark until 8:30. So we head to the 7th hole. Play that and the 8th. Then as we are teeing off for the 9th the supposed "course marshal" again approaches my group and tells us that the "carts have to be back my 6:30 and it's 6:30". Really??? We had 3 holes left on the back 9 and we had to head back, then after a 10 minute drive through a swamp, we are told we can't even finish. It's ridiculous. Not to mention the signs up that say it's illegal to play with range balls on the course as well as dozens of other rules. So needless to say we will play other, better courses from now on that might be a little further of a drive but are so worth it compared to the bullcrap that is Brazell Creek golf course.
