Try another course
Played here today. Only the ProShop was open. Electric carts were fine. Couse was in terrible shape. Almost impossible to put a tee in the ground. Tee boxes, fairways and greens were Full of weeds. Two temporay greens (if you can even call them greens) were being utilized. Greens were basically an extension of the fairways. Bunkers were well maintained. Putting green was excellent. Too bad the same care was not put into the gourse greens. Spend a few additional dollars and find a real golf course.
Good course for the money
This is a good course for the money, laid out good but the fairways and greens are not in good shape.
Customer service
Over the top excellent customer experience. This was my first time playing in 15 plus years and the staff was so friendly and accommodating. We will definitely be going back!
You get what you pay for...
We have played here in the past and understood that this was a cheaper course with no amenities. Most of the time, the conditions were decent with mowed fairways and greens in decent condition. We've had great times and fun rounds out here!
That was until we played this past time....
The fairways were as thick as the rough, grass up to our knees in some spots that were meant to be playable short grass fairways and rough... it honestly looked as though the course hadn't been mowed in many days... the greens were fuzzy and thick and it was a crap shoot to try and putt it in the hole.
If you didn't keep a close eye on your ball, you'd lose it in the fairway! The conditions were absolutely atrocious, not even worth the cheap 25 dollar price tag for a Sunday...
I would HIGHLY recommend going elsewhere if you care at all about playing golf. If you're out to just hangout and drink some beer, go for it but the course was borderline unplayable for most of the holes due to lack of basic mowing...
Course needs work. Good for a solo round
The greens are abysmal. However, I do like the layout of the course. It is a good place if you want to get a solo round in. The tee signs are nice on the first few holes but a lot of the holes are missing them.
Course could be great with a little more tlc. I’ll play here again. Honestly just leave the putter at home and play it like a simulator.
Putting at the beach
70% of the greens were pure sand and the rest were crabgrass. The fairways were overgrown, my group lost balls that were in the “short grass.”
The staff were friendly as could be. It really broke me to see the course in this shape as my grandparents were members here in the 80s and 90s. I grew up thinking this was the tip top of golf courses
Can't beat the price. Friendly staff. U do not need to be an Elk member to play this course. It does floods out of u have continuous rain. Not a great course. I just enjoy playing it. Great staff . Just good ole country folks
