Complete turnaround
Wow! The last time I played here the course was worse than bad but today was like playing a completely new course. The greens were great, fairways were green and consistent. My only issue was that I was a single behind groups of 6, 5 and 3... I ended up playing the front nine twice because they were stacked up on 10. Even when I started on number 1 again, I had to hurry and get in front of another group of 5. I understand it’s a good ole boy kind of golf course but groups of 6 and 5 on a Saturday is a little too much.
New Course Renovations
The course looks amazing and has some of the best greens in the Augusta area. Whole place has had a facelift.
Bumpy Ride
This is a fun course with the front nine being a little flat and not much show. Compared to the back nine with some really nice holes. Course was still quite wet. I understand that the course will under go a major re construction. Pathways are quite bumpy. For the price its outstanding value.
Rural course with best days in past
Country course that probably was a star at one time. The fairways are generous and have nice fluff with depth not so the greens. They are either just loosing or coming back. Either way 70% turf and 30% dirt. Not much sand but not a bad thing. Kind of like at lot of other courses, trying to hang on and make a profit. Hard to do.
Dry Course
The course is dry with poor grass conditions in the fairways. The greens are bumping.
Fun Course, great staff
I played here on 04/29/18 with a friend from out of town. We didn't have a tee time, but Andrew in the pro shop was more than accommodating. He got us out right away and we had a great time. The greens are still coming in, but the will be great in a few weeks, all in all still not bad though. Great customer service and beautiful country course.
Course in Poor Condition
Course looked the worse I have ever seen it. Fairways full of weeds and in need of mowing. Greens weeded up and poor condition. I will not play this course again.
Played during masters week
This course is first very overpriced, I had to pay $75 During masters week which included a cart, small bag is balls for the range and a lunch consisting of a pre made sandwich, beer and bag of chips. The greens on the front nine were terrible with bare spots and weeds. The front nine is undefined making it tough to find where to go. On one hole we had to find our ball amongst many driving range balls that were on the fairway. The back nine was nicer. Overall a good $35 course at best. Wouldn't recommend this course at all.
Wait until the warm season
I wouldn't advise playing this course in the off season nor after a decent rain. It was VERY wet apparently doesn't drain well, although the greens were pretty good, fairly quick, rolled pretty true, and of course held any shot hit into them; wasn't sure if it was from the rain or not. Tees were in pretty good shape as well. Not bad for the GN price but not worth more than $35 or so unless it improves a good bit during the season.
Nice layout
Nice layout. Front nine is wide open and back nine a little tighter. The greens were exceptionally fast. Will definitely come back to play.
Challenging Layout
Greens were surprisingly quick and in good shape. The contrast betweeen nines makes the course challenging and fun.
Tough one!
Played this course with my spouse. We are both mid-20 handicap. We were the first ones in the parking lot on a Sunday morning. The staff was so friendly. We got a bucket to warm up. A couple of groups showed up and went off. We tucked in and had a lot of fun. The fairways were in excellent condition. The greens were hit and miss. It is obvious they are trying to save them, but are falling behind the 8-ball.
The front nine was flat, but wide open. The back nine was so different. Lots of elevation changes. Tight fairways. Very enjoyable
If you can catch a deal, it is very worth it. At the standard rate, not so much. It is worth checking out though, no doubt.
