This course has a great layout but very unforgiving lies. Be sure to practice your belly button high wedge shots from the fairway as the undulating terrain is relentless. Otherwise a great course and very challenging.
Nice Day for Golf
Staff was friendly when we arrived and we got right out.
Course in good shape but greens were slow
Course is very challenging with lots of traps and plenty of elevation.
Great location for play just north of downtown Atlanta.
Worth the trip for sure.
5Star - HOWEVER, please read review
I gave this course a Five Star as typically only one- & five-star reviews are read. (It's really a 4Star course)
This course has rolling hills both up & down and side to side (which is fine). The fairways were in excellent shape and the tee boxes were acceptable.
The sand in the traps were fairly soft and just one trap had the mesh showing.
The pro shop guy and starter were just "OK", not unfriendly or overly friendly. The grounds crew were really friendly and very helpful on the course as it was difficult to navigate to some holes.
The golf carts are not allowed in the parking lot so you will have to tote your bag from a congested area of recently used carts to fresh carts going out.
I would recommend the course to a friend with the above notations, but I probably won't play it again for ONE REASON ONLY!!!!
IT IS WAY TOO CROWDED!!!! as the tee spots are too close considering the course terrain.
OK, I would play it again if it were a gift or in a scramble for charity but not as a course on my circuit list.
Outstanding Experience
Undulating fairways and greens created an environment for target golf. You must select specific targets from tee to green. I thoroughly enjoyed thinking my way around the course.
Great challenging layou with some condition issues
A fun and strategic course, tons of undulation, rolling greens. Tee boxes and fairways need attention to make this a truly memorable course experience.
4.5 Hours for 9 holes
The course would have been fun to play had it not been for the insanely slow pace of play. We had two golfers in our group and we were hoping to get in 15-18 holes after our 4:00pm tee time. We tee off late frequently at other clubs and almost always get through all 18 without a problem. Unfortunately, this place doesn't have it together at all. There weren't any Marshalls instructing players to pick up the pace and we spent more time waiting than actually playing. On one par 3 we waited for 20 mins to tee off. When I called the course to ask for a partial refund they were unhelpful and rude. The person I spoke to admitted that the golf course intentionally overbooks its tee times! Twilight tee times always run the risk of not being able to get through 18 holes, but 4.5 hours for only 9 holes is ridiculous. What a waste of our time and money. I would never go back here again.
Good Location, Good Layout, Bad tee boxes and traps
The course itself was nice. No spacing on tee times but moved so/so, took 4 hours 40 minutes.
The tee boxes were terrible. Have were literally sand. The sand traps were not sand traps. So sand in them, mostly red clay. Fairways were fine and greens were fine.
Terrible Customer Service
Would give 0 stars if I could, walked in and was greeted by the pro shop staff (Grant) on his phone and had to wait for him to finish whatever he was doing before he attended to us. Asked to redeem our free drinks a I have done in the past and told he cannot do this because it wasn’t something they do anymore( yet last round I played a couple of weeks ago it was not a problem). Rude staff all around and will never come back. Beware of all the past comments about them farming money is true. Enough so that the free drink advertised on GolfNow was something they cannot do or have ever done? I was told the head pro is Scott, will see if I ever hear back from him.Grant refused to help with anything even after showing him the photo attached. Ridiculous golf club
Greens are getting there!
Heritage is a decent course and very convenient if you live somewhat in the area. It’s 5-10 minutes from my house so I play it a bunch, otherwise I probably wouldn’t drive more than 20-30 to go play it. The greens are getting close to being in good shape, punched probably 3 weeks ago or so, so still still a little bumpy and furry. A few more weeks of healing and a cut and they should be solid. Tee boxes and fairways need attention though, very little grass and a lot of hardpan dirt lies, which will hopefully improve as summer kicks in. Overall, decent course to play if you’re in the area, 3-9’s to choose from which helps with the crowds, cause it gets packed. $50-$60 tops
Challenging layout with disappointing Upkeep
Normally it’s the greens that really make a public course unplayable, but at this course it was the tee boxes. I’d say 80% of the tee boxes didn’t have grass and were just sand. Definitely unfortunate. Challenging layout that made you hit smart golf shots, but conditions like this will disappoint golfers at every level.
Challenging course.
Lots of undulating fairways and greens with all sorts of elevation: a good challenge. As with most clubs, the sand traps are terrible; a lot of mud and standing water. Still, a fun course to play.
Bad Condition
Tee boxes are straight dirt and greens punched. Don’t waste your time and money. Might be better in a couple months.
Rough Old Crowd & Punched Greens
Course layout was great but the greens were all punched and no notes on Golf Now. Greens were pretty rough and not super realistic. Almost 100% dead fairways and sand tee boxes. Once back in shape, will be good test for sure. The group of old timers I was was initially paired with suggested I wait until next group and gave me the 3rd degree about what I shoot, where I am from, what tees I played etc. etc. before teeing off to the point the started had to tell them to back off. Was my first time there, and I apparently showed up during one of their small group times. Ended up playing with the next group in about 4 1/2 hours with absolutely no wait on anyone, painfully slow. Would recommend any decent golfers that can break 80 to NOT just show up and expect a decent group mid week.
