About
Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Highland Course at Lake Arrowhead weaves through rolling woodlands. Every hole offers unique scenery and stunning mountain views. The golf course was completely redesigned in 2008, which makes it one of Atlanta's younger courses; nevertheless it has quickly garnered a strong following amongst locals thanks to not only the challenging layout but also the affordable rates and beautiful setting. Lake Arrowhead's convenient location makes it even more appealing, it sits less than an hour north of Atlanta. The golf course features strategically placed bunkers and plenty of trees. It is a layout that requires careful course management. The 14th hole is arguably the most difficult. This tricky par 5 is known to test even the most skilled players.

Championship layout - hidden gem
Great layout, difficult for your average golfer. Not a lot of 'fun' your first time around. Need some course knowledge. The greens are above average but not great. Definitely fun. I played without a 'hot deal' for about 15 bucks at 4 in the afternoon. Played in just a little over 2 hours. Worth the hour drive from Atlanta to play this course. Go try it out.
Layout leaves a lot to be desired
Overall this is a good course, but it could be great. The first hole is a par 5 where you either need to tee off with a 6 iron or carry a driver over 280 yards. Ridonkulous! The other par 5 on the front is just as silly. If they would rework those holes it would be a great track.

And beautiful mountain golf course that anyone would enjoy… There are some very difficult holes, and because it was cartpath only because of rain, I was pretty tired from all the walking. Nevertheless, I will be returning for sure!

Cannot catch a break
Every course I have played thus far this year is in pitiful condition for this time of year. Consider, we had a very mild winter, but wetter than normal, I don't get it.. Any way, this course has just been aerated, and I got no notice of that..no way to make a putt. A lot of restoration work going on due to over use, wear and tear and just plain worn out golf course. I have said it about other courses and I will say it again, don't bother with North Georgia golf courses right now, give it at least 4 more weeks - I know that is my plan..

What a Beautiful Course !!
Even though the greens were punched it didn't take away from the very fun and challenging course. I love the layout and natural scenery. I will definitely be back soon.

Greening Up
Greens had been punch and sanded....no buggy. Fairways are greening up and very playable. Great staff!

Worth the drive
Great staff and pro shop. Greens were fast enough for a challenging round. Wide fairways with just enough hazards.

Arguably the BEST!!!
One of the best if not the best I’ve played in GA. The course is simply awesome!! Ms Stacey at the pro shop is really pleasant and helped us enjoy the Lake Arrowhead experience. It is definitely worth the drive for sure.

Nice Course
Nice mountain views greens, excellent fairways nice, sand traps need work , but after playing with a member. He said because of deer coming thru it was hard to maintain. But a very enjoyable course that requires shot placement.

Beautiful, challenging layout
We are on vacation from Texas and wanted to play golf, so we played at Lake Arrowhead which was open during a rainy day. This course seemed to have good drainage since it was sometimes pouring and we still could mostly play our ball where it landed. It is hilly and gorgeous and it seemed common to see wildlife ( we saw several deer).The 4 of us loved this course enough to come back the next day to play again.

Foggy day of golf
Played the course on a foggy day as we were the only ones out there. The course was wet but playable without any standing water. We were informed that it was cart path only which makes it a little longer to play. Greens were in good shape for this time of year. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Will play again
