Rating 75.0

Gateway National Golf Club is the top public golf course in St. Louis. The course sprawls across gently rolling pasturelands crossed with ribbons of tall native grasses and sprinkled with mature cottonwood trees. There are also several sparkling lakes that dot the course, providing challenges on several holes. Although it's nowhere near the ocean, the golf course has a classic links layout with wood-tie bunkers and subtle but tricky mounding that is in the tradition of great British Isles courses such as Carnoustie and the Old Course at St. Andrews. The Gateway National layout even incorporates Scottish-style burns. The fairways are generous but they are lined with rough that will readily swallow errant shots. It is a long golf course at 7,178 yards and it even boasts one of Illinois' longest par 4s, the 482-yard fifth hole.

As Close To True "Links" As You Can Get

This is why GolfNow is the best site on the web. Play this course for under 30.00 is incredible value. The course plays long even from the blues but the course is in outstanding shape for a November Day. Greens are challenging but fair. Fairways are not forgiving if you are too far left or right. Tee boxes were really smooth and level.
You really have to be prepared to hit long drives and fairway woods on many of the holes. The Par 5s are over 500 yards.
It was a really fun day and I went through the course in under 3 hours. Also the clubhouse is really nice.

Great course, people aren't all that friendly.

I would play on this course all the time if it were more reasonably priced. It is amazing and very challenging. The staff is not that friendly (I was with my wife, I get that alot when I play with a woman). I would play again if the deal was right.

Staff bent over backwards to make the experience terrific

As an avid golfer who has played nearly every course in the Saint Louis area, this may be the best public course out there for the price. The course was in terrific condition, the staff was great, and even though it was a Saturday morning and the course was full, the pace of play was under 4 hours. Compared to other top tier public courses in the area the price we paid was significantly less here. Overall, great course, great staff (super helpful), and fabulous value. Will be back soon, I would highly recommend, thanks

One of the best in the STL area

I had not played here for a couple of years but a recent Golf Now offer got me to play Sunday. Course was in very good condition from tee to green.

Good shape and fast play

Except for aerated greens which have healed by now, no complaints.
