About
Maui's Ka'anapali Resort is built upon 1,200 acres of land home to ancient Hawaiian royalty and is home to two 18-hole championship golf courses. The Royal Ka'anapali course was built in 1962 and designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr., who created undulating greens and wide fairways to accent views of the Pacific Ocean and West Maui Mountains. This championship challenge has played host to such events as the Champions TOUR Ka'anapali Classic for 14 years, LPGA Kemper Cup and Shell's Wonderful World of Golf, and such legends as Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Chi Chi Rodriguez, Jan Stephanson and Betsy King have competed here. Guests of the Ka'anapali Resort receive discounts on green fees at both Royal Ka'anapali and newer Ka'anapali Kai, which was extensively renovated in 2005.

Great spot for west Maui golf.
The Kaanapali courses are consistently well maintained and offer great ocean views. I play here for at least one of my rounds every time I visit the island.

Good pace, no adult beverages
The Royal was not crowded on this day so pace of play was great, wind was down also.
Kaanapali course does not have a liquor license so the on course beverage cart does not have any beer for sale. They have you purchase it at a restaurant next door before teeing off. I have never heard of this especially from a high tier resort course

I got a ttime thru golf now at reduced price, starter got me on early which was nice, course was in excellent shape, this was my first time playing in Hawaii!

1st time played
Saved a significant amount of money by using the app and truly enjoyed my first time playing! Paired up with another App user of similar playing capabilities and enjoyed the social interaction and golfing experience! Signed up to play the alternate 18 tomorrow

Beautiful
Very friendly staff. Visited with Larry who has been there since 1980! Course conditions really good, fantastic views of ocean and surroundings. Greens have some grain which affects putts, adding to the challenge and fun. Can't wait to return to Maui and play again.

Kaanapoli golf disappoints
The course offered 50% off a replay round. I called and confirmed that I could use that deal 8/9/24. I arrived and was told that it would not be honored. That’s terrible. I will not be supportive of this course to anyone I speak with in the future. I will be actively letting people know that they should avoid this course. That is not an honorable way to run the course. Be better!

The course itself was absolutely beautiful and in great shape. The greens were extremely fast and the gras in the rough was deep and thick. I played an early round and they gave me one bottle of water. The beverage and snack cart service didn’t start until 11:00 and I was finished with my round before they started. I was definitely dehydrated when the round was over!

Good value
This is a great course if the price is right. I personally would not pay the regular fees they charge, there are to many condo lined holes, I would spend my $200 at the Wailea courses

Absolutely Beautiful
It was my first time playing golf on Maui and I had an amazing time. I was paired with 2 other visitors to the island. One gentleman had played there a few days prior. From the beginning, the staff was very friendly and helpful. The course was outstanding. We didn't have a pace of play problem. We teed off at 130pm and finished at 4PM.

11:50 t-time behind 2 groups with 4 carts.
Crazy that they let all these folks off together. At least 5 golfers each group. Different players on some holes. Starter told us to relax and take our time. I asked how many golfers per group. He lied and said 4.

Fun course
Had not played this in 38 years, but was very enjoyable, winds were not too bad, but wee in opposite direction from normal so long holes played into the wind. Greens were not lightning fast but were consistent, fairways in great shape
