About
The Ka'anapali Resort on Maui is home to two championship golf courses, set on 1,200 acres of land home to ancient Hawaiian royalty. The Ka'anapali Kai course is an Arthur Jack Snyder design from 1976 that received an extensive renovation in 2005. The golf course is shorter and has a lower slope/rating compared to its sister Royal Ka'anapali course, but also plays narrower in most spots. Many holes are tucked into the West Maui Mountains The golf course is women-friendly with a forward set of "Hibiscus" tees at 4,522 yards, and also less expensive to resort guests and visitors compared to Royal Ka'anapali, which has played host to numerous professional events.

Great views
Course was a fun time. Golf carts offer good technology in terms of lining up distances and things like that. This course does have the feeling of playing in the backyards of the people living near the fairways. The holes also felt sort of same-y, especially the beginning of the back 9. Course is a little higher up so the views of the water are quite nice.
Sand traps
The course was in so so shape. The sand traps were all in very poor shape and were being made over it appeared. No one warned us to f that
Please provide water!
Overall we enjoyed the round but the 4 of us were dehydrated by the end. There are no water facilities provided at the club house or on the course. We saw the facilities cart once during the round and had to share two $5 bottles of water as there wasn't any more for sale. This isn't satisfactory for a golf course in Maui's climate.

Tee boxes in good shape
Fairways were great
Greens were very smooth, consistent not overly fast, plenty of slope and grain.
Green side bunkers were pretty well maintained and quite consistent and playable- good thing because there’s a bunch of them and with strong winds playing with my golf ball, I hit a bunch of them
The front nine especially has gorgeous ocean views.
Pace of play wasn’t terrible but our fore some consistently were waiting on a twosome ahead of us who were painfully slow and I didn’t see anyone else slowing them down
Good resort course
Second time playing this course. Fairly recent since punching the greens so they were rough. Also the sand traps had been watered and were near,ly unplayable. Rest of course was fine

Terrible No Water
No water on the course…none provided on cart and no cart person service except for first hole….tough conditions when it’s 89 degrees!
Great course for all skill levels
My fondest golf course memories come from Hawaii and this was no exception. Sweeping views of Ka’anapali and the course itself was in great condition. Not the longest course but plenty of challenging slopes and a couple of holes with water in play. First group out at 6:45am and the round was done in less than 4 hours. Highly recommend!
Good value
Course was in good condition but service was short staffed. Course played well and seemed in good shape.
