Ka'anapali Kai

About
The Ka'anapali Resort on Maui is home to two championship golf courses, set on 1,200 acres of land home to ancient Hawaiian royalty. The Ka'anapali Kai course is an Arthur Jack Snyder design from 1976 that received an extensive renovation in 2005. The golf course is shorter and has a lower slope/rating compared to its sister Royal Ka'anapali course, but also plays narrower in most spots. Many holes are tucked into the West Maui Mountains The golf course is women-friendly with a forward set of "Hibiscus" tees at 4,522 yards, and also less expensive to resort guests and visitors compared to Royal Ka'anapali, which has played host to numerous professional events.

Maui beaches! Photo submitted by u000005546095 on 02/17/2013
Great condition and great views
Really enjoyed this course. Greens were great. Lots of elevation changes. Will play again when in Maui.
ALL WEATHER!
Played in rain, wind and a little slower pace but enjoyed playing the course. Played this course 2 times during our week vacation,
Charlie Foxtrot
You would think that a world renowned resort course would put a few tees in the cart, spring for a water bottle or two ( like every other course in Hawaii), but no. Plus no alcohol on the course, only fair course conditions. Looks like they don’t change pin positions daily either. Sum total is: find somewhere else to play even if it costs more. These bozos don’t seem to care one way or the other.
Phenomenal. Everything was great other than no alcohol sold during play. Highly recommend
Solid
Good course, greens slower than expected. Layout is fair, weird beverage policy. Good views, all and all solid for the price (depending what you pay). Look online, might be more worth it for less ching.
Worth it!
My husband and I got paired up with 2others, one being a regular so it helped us get around easier. Course might have a few more sand traps than we’re use to but otherwise not too difficult. Pretty open fairways. Course was in great condition and with some awesome views! We even got a bucket of balls included to play before our tee time! Everyone was real friendly and professional. We hope to golf there again 1-2 times before we have to leave. We also rented clubs.
Worth it
Was able to park in the lot. When we got checked in we also each got a small bucket of balls for the range that we had time for luckily. We were paired up with a regular which was nice for where the first hole was located especially. Beautiful views of the ocean and homes and flora. Course is pretty open and with average (to more?) sand traps. Costs more than we’re used to but worth it in Hawaii! We rented clubs and they were
Callaway and very nice. Would play again!
Buck
Good course…..but was told by the starter I could have saved some money by booking directly with the course (military and Junior rate)!
Great course
The Kai course is a great course to get out an play. This was our 3rd time playing this course and enjoy it the same every time. Friendly staff, great course!
Great course but too expensive for visitors
Why do visitors to maui pay almost double to what locals pay? Not fair!
