Arlington Lakes Golf Club
About
Arlington Lakes Golf Club is situated amid the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Locals treasure the course as one of the area's hidden gems. At 5,331 yards from the back tees, this par-68 layout is on the shorter side but don't underestimate its level of difficulty. Besides the mature trees that frame many of the holes and 14 lakes that come into play, there are more than 100 strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The layout also features small, sloped greens that demand accuracy but you can take comfort in the fact that there are no doglegs. With strategic shot-placement and a bit of luck, there are some birdie opportunities available. The shorter length of the golf course will appeal to beginners but it's versatile for more advanced players to enjoy as well.

Hard as a rock
Like many park district and municipal courses, the need to put down much more water. This is probably more of a money than management issue with politicians, board members etc... who wont approve funding. The course is in good shape except for the aforementioned. Everything is hard and the ball bounces all over the place. Nevertheless, it is a nice layout.
Thank you so much for letting us know about your recent experience. Your satisfaction is a deep concern of ours as we always aim to exceed expectations. We would love to have a chance to bump those 2 stars to 5. Please come back soon and allow us to WOW you on your next visit!
Great Redesign

Don't Let The Size Fool You
This course boast from the tips around 5400 yds, and although that may be relatively short compared to most courses, it has its share of challenges. With water coming into play on several holes you have to make sure you choose your club careful. If you're a slicer beware! If you're a big hitter there are a few holes that could be driveable or at least live you with a short chip to the green. The course is narrow in some instances and par 3's range from 120 yards to 190 and most are carry over water, and par 5's are birdie possibilities. Par for the course is 66 from the tips. The course was in good shape, but the greens were hard to read. Looking forward to playing this again now that I kind of know the layout.

Short lengthwise but not short in challenges
Arlington Lakes can jump up and bite you. Yes, a 5400 challenge throughout. The greens are big with a lot of slope and are quick during the summer. You can hit every club in your bag here..There’s a nice variety of holes..

Excellent course for honing irons & wedges
Not the most glamorous or challenging course, but ALGC keeps it in tip top condition. Immaculate greens and fairways
Lots of very straight fairways, but the omnipresent lakes and bunkers paired with the relatively narrow fairways force you to think about shot selection in ways that wide open larger courses don't. I rarely used my driver here, opting to go with 3-wood on a few, and 4 or 5 iron on most of the rest of the tee shots except for the 6(!) par-3's.
I recommend this course for anyone looking to improve their iron and wedge play, myself very much included. The price is very fair. I look forward to returning to this course.
Other notes: saw the cart girl 4 or 5 times throughout the 4 hr round which was great. There is some kind of army base that borders the course, so the US Government is not the owner of several of me and my friends' golf balls.
