Arlington Lakes Golf Club
About
Arlington Lakes Golf Club is situated amid the northwest suburbs of Chicago. Locals treasure the course as one of the area's hidden gems. At 5,331 yards from the back tees, this par-68 layout is on the shorter side but don't underestimate its level of difficulty. Besides the mature trees that frame many of the holes and 14 lakes that come into play, there are more than 100 strategically placed bunkers lurking throughout. The layout also features small, sloped greens that demand accuracy but you can take comfort in the fact that there are no doglegs. With strategic shot-placement and a bit of luck, there are some birdie opportunities available. The shorter length of the golf course will appeal to beginners but it's versatile for more advanced players to enjoy as well.

Excellent course for honing irons & wedges
Not the most glamorous or challenging course, but ALGC keeps it in tip top condition. Immaculate greens and fairways
Lots of very straight fairways, but the omnipresent lakes and bunkers paired with the relatively narrow fairways force you to think about shot selection in ways that wide open larger courses don't. I rarely used my driver here, opting to go with 3-wood on a few, and 4 or 5 iron on most of the rest of the tee shots except for the 6(!) par-3's.
I recommend this course for anyone looking to improve their iron and wedge play, myself very much included. The price is very fair. I look forward to returning to this course.
Other notes: saw the cart girl 4 or 5 times throughout the 4 hr round which was great. There is some kind of army base that borders the course, so the US Government is not the owner of several of me and my friends' golf balls.
Needs water
This course is for the old and young.
It’s a short track, but is tight at times. It’s sad that they took out a lot of sand traps. People are freindly. Outiside seating is very nice for a drink after round.
All in all, could be kept up a little better. Maybe speed up the greens to make it tougher.
Arlington Lakes
Nice course the intermediate golfer . I’d play here again .
Thoroughly Surprised
With low expectations, I didn't expect much out of this golf course. Boy did my mind change. The course is in relatively good shape despite some spotty tee boxes. The greens roll true, bunkers nice and fairways were in good shape. At its value, give this course a try!
Course was in good shape, however tee boxes were excessively firm making it diifficult to set tees in ground.
Redo
Course is in great shape since the redo. Only problem is on the tee boxes which were hard as a rock. I noticed others having a difficult time getting their tees in. Pace of play is very slow as it is a short course and many of the seniors are out there enjoying themselves.
Good course
For $30 a round w a cart, its really hard to complain. Nice little course. Greens are a bit filled w ball marks, but like i said...for 30 bucks, ya cant really complain. Another par 5 wouldve been nice.
