About
Bartlett Hills Golf Club has been a favorite Chicagoland golf destination since it first opened in 1929. To keep the layout up to modern standards, it has undergone many changes over the years but it still has the same classic character. At 6,463 yards from the back tees, this traditional layout might not be long but it still provides a fair test. Rather than distance, the golf course demands smart play and accurate shot placement thanks to narrow, tree-lined fairways and several tricky doglegs. You might not have many chances to use your driver but you'll definitely get some iron practice. There isn't too much trouble off of the tees at Bartlett Hills G.C. But greenside you'll be faced with nearly 30 strategically placed bunkers and water hazards come into play on seven holes, which include some forced carries.

Unique and fun layout with consistently good conditions.
Bartlett Hills is an area favorite of mine that comes up just shy of 5 stars only because some aesthetics that are difficult to maintain during difficult times.
Tee boxes, fairways, and greens are in excellent shape. The bunkers are also in good shape but several of them were infested with ground dwelling bees which made it daunting to play out of. There are so many tree rings and flower boxes, planters, etc. It appears to be just a bit too much to maintain and it shows.
Not quite sure why they don't offer a sand/seed mix bottle but I expect the course would fair better in many places if it did.
The staff is excellent, super friendly and the food is above average. If Golf Advisor would allow me to tack on an additional half star I certainly would but otherwise I have to reserve the 5 for courses that nail nearly every aspect of a quality golf course experience.

Always An Enjoyable Time
I'll always come back to Bartlett Hills because the layout fits my eye and it's always in good condition. I like that it has a driving range with grass tees and two putting greens too!

Great course to sharpen your skills.
Great course with some challenging holes. Back nine tightens up and slows pace of play. Holes 15 - 17 run parallel to each other. You are an easy target for sprayed shots. In spite of that, I like the course. Number 18 is a nice finishing Par 3!

tree and hills
Old park district course I have played since the 78's.The greens and fairways were redone years ago.Now ,it's all bent grass.Lots of trees,very hilly,hard to walk unless you are in good health.Back nine has some holes close together making it tight.No level holes until the 17th.not long but very challenging.

Lovely Classic Course
Beautiful tree-lined fairways, mild elevation changes, bent grass fairways and challenging greens make this golf course a fun and enjoyable experience. This is definitely a hidden gem worth the trip.

Good for a quicker round
This course is close to our house and we play there quite a bit. The course is on the shorter side and if you can hit it straight consistently, you'll tear it up. It gets tricky off the fairway and the greens do have some slope making for some difficult puts. Generally the pace of play is very good and if the course is pretty open a 3 hour round is definitely doable.

Very interesting layout and very challenging!
This was my first time at Bartlett Hills and I certainly will be returning. Beautiful course and very challenging for any level of golfer.
