Settler's Hill Golf Course sprawls across a diverse landscape that ranges from windswept highlands to mature woodlands. The course actually sits on the site of a former landfill but you would never be able to tell with its rolling topography that has become its signature characteristic. When playing, you'll be transported from the Scottish highlands to the forests of northern Michigan without even having to leave Chicagoland. Links-style and parkland holes are interspersed with water to create a test of your skills you won't soon forget. The greens have their interesting quirks and they are framed with deep bunkers and the rolling fairways demand accuracy. Besides the challenging round and affordable rates, Settler's Hill Golf Course's west-central location in Batavia near the Fox River also makes it a popular choice for meeting friends for a round.

Fun time
Staff is friendly, course could use work in some areas but it’s a fun time everytime
Fun and Challenging
This course is one of the most fun around. I love the dramatic grade changes.
Nice course especially for price
Very nice and fun course. Challenging but fair. Great condition. Some very nice long and short holes. Good place to play regularly
A good layout, being allowed to decay and deteriorate
I have been playing this course for at least 12 years. It is a well laid out track and is fairly challenging. However, in the last three years, the management has practically neglected this course. Drainage problems all around, fairways and the immediate rough are a disaster. The only maintenance they do is occasionally mowing the course. Basically this course is being treated as a cash cow!!
Decent Day
The starter was not very friendly at all and was talking stuff about us when we were teeing off eight the group behind us. The starter guy was talking to us like we were stupid. We legit had a round messed up by his rudeness. The group behind us hit me in the ankle with a ball and another almost nailed my head. They didn’t even yell four whatsoever. Plus it caused a wicked bone bruise too.We can only play as fast as the group in front of us. There were a few greens in horrible condition.
Good course for all to play
Course layout golferfriendly. Greens were extremely fast and true. Golfers need to repair their ball marks as several greens has multiple divots.
