Good stuff
The greens were soft in approach but very challenging due to slope a fast speed. There is a lot off water in play. Had a lot of fun playing this course!
Worth the money
The fairways are rock hard with little grass and a lot of geese poop.. but having said that all they need is some water and back to good. Finally the greens are very tricky with great pin placement! Will add it to the courses I play switch between!
enjoyed a perfect day
Labor Day 2024 brought us perfect golf weather, and we did not waste it. An online hot deal gave a us a good price to play in the afternoon at River Oaks. It's a little out of our driving range, but we enjoyed the ride and the round.
The water hazards make it challenging, and we stayed out of most of them. The many geese and some other water fowl added to the scenic beauty. The fairways were hard but adequately maintained, and the greens were fast for a FPD course. Our only complaint is with the bunkers. The sand was like concrete, and we did not see a bunker rake all day.
You get what you pay for
I always love Riveks. The price is always right. The greens are tough. The course is in good shape. You’re not getting the best course in Chicago you’re getting the most affordable and it’s pretty well taken care of. The people are friendly, the course is challenging. There’s some goose poop you gotta watch out for. Other than that I’m a big fan.
Enjoyed the round!
Starter was super cool and courteous! My friends and I had an enjoyable round of golf. Please consider a beverage cart. It would be a welcome service.
Bridge Out
There is a serious drainage problem throughout the course. It hadn’t rained for a week yet several holes were flooded. Please fix the bridge on the 12 hole!
Go Elsewhere
Staff was not friendly. Said good morning to multiple people including the starter and got no response. Course conditions are awful. Bunkers are unplayable and filled with water. Tee boxes ripped up bad. Overall very poorly maintained. Not to mention the approach to tee off on hole 12 requires you to drive your cart down the middle of a fairway. Hard pass.
