Bridge Out
There is a serious drainage problem throughout the course. It hadn’t rained for a week yet several holes were flooded. Please fix the bridge on the 12 hole!

Staff was not friendly. Said good morning to multiple people including the starter and got no response. Course conditions are awful. Bunkers are unplayable and filled with water. Tee boxes ripped up bad. Overall very poorly maintained. Not to mention the approach to tee off on hole 12 requires you to drive your cart down the middle of a fairway. Hard pass.
Looking Great
First time playing river oaks this year and it was in great shape. The greens were very receptive and rolling at a good speed. Round only took 3hrs 7min starting at 9am so you get 5 stars from me for that because weekend golf can be brutal
Not worth it
Carts weren’t available so they stuck me on a push cart and I had to walk, plus the starter couldn’t figure out what group to put me with as a single and changed their minds 3 times. Had to wait on a dude stumbling his way down the fairway wearing a cutoff t-shirt and Jordans. Not worth it considering there’s so many other courses around.
Good layout but always wet
A fun course that unfortunately has some drainage problems. Lots of soaked spots even in summer heat without much recent rain. Still a good value. Big greens and big bunkers. Several tricky placement shots. But the weather has to be right when playing here.
What happened to the 12th hole?!
I have played this course many times in the past, though not in the past several years. I was shocked to find that the old 12th and 15 holes were eliminated.
The new layout forces a very awkward walk up to the new 12 tee box along the fairway where you are basically in play the the entire walk.
With this hole configuration, the old 15th hole, which was a really challenging dog leg par 5, has been broken up into two holes(par 3 and short par 4). the old 15th was the best hole on the back nine so it's a shame that it was lost to the new course layout.
Still a good course for the price, but I much preferred the old layout and hope that they find a way to bring it back in the future.
Good experience
The course is well kept. Still getting use to the configuration on the12th hole. The green at 14 is so much better.
Good golf day. 8 am tee time friendly staff. Greens and fairway in good condition but sand traps need to be filled with sand more mud than sand for sure the only issue at this course. Pace of play on weekends not for beginners everyone seems to pass those guys up recommend weekdays for beginners
Walked all 18 holes. Nice course with fast greens.
Good course, minimal frills, welcoming staff
I like the course layout. There are a good mix of short, long, easy, and challenging holes. Water/ creeks/ ponds frequently come into play. There are good amount of sand traps as well, but they were not well maintained. The greens had recently been aerated, but still played relatively smooth and had no bare spots. Some of the tee boxes were pretty small, but were we'll maintained and mostly flat. A couple of fairways we soggy, especially on 2 & 11 and, but overall they were in decent shape. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. No breakfast options when we started, but at the turn they were grilling burger and dogs outside for sale, which was nice. No full bar, but they had beers and mini airplane bottle of liquor for sale. Drink cart went buy us 2-3 times during our 18. Overall, it was a nice outing and I plan to go back. Good value for your money.
