Golfer Reviews
Too Slow
This course routinely ranks as one of the most-played in the entire Chicago area. The foursomes are sent out at 7 to 8 minute intervals and the groups stack up on the par 3 tees like so much cord-wood. A marshal would help, but there was none to be found (on a SATURDAY afternoon). However, there was a beverage cart, staffed by a young woman who had no problem stopping to sell beverages to groups as they played in the fairway! Very convenient, but very very slow... 5 hours after teeing off, I walked off the course, having played 16 holes...
SLOW!!!
Average difficulty course. The issues we had were with the pace of play. We were put behind 3 different outings. It took almost 3 hours to play 9 holes. Left the course after the front because at the turn there were 3 foursomes waiting at the 10th tee box.
You get what you pay for
All in all, good round and fair price. Fairways were long and greens were slow but it was also rainy so I could see this course playing better in good conditions. I'd go back.
Good condition
Very good time course was in good shape would play again very helpful staff
Worth it for a quickie
Management this year is doing a great job. Really proactive and friendly. Course is in better shape than the last few years. There is actually grass in certain places that there wasn't.
Staff doesn't work well together.
Not enough golf carts available when we got there. We waited to tee off as soon as someone turned in there cart.
Afternoon Round
Indian Boundary is probably the course I play most often. Booked a tee time for this round to take advantage of the cheaper afternoon rates. The course was in great condition but the pace of play was painfully slow. All the times I've played there it's a consistent problem. There are times when two groups will get stacked up at a tee box waiting on another to finish a hole. There really is no presence of a ranger on the course to keep people moving. Despite slow play Indian Boundary is a great golf course.
"bunkers"
The green were a little too long, they needed to be mowed. Also, the condition of the "bunkers" is just awful. This is an ongoing issue with chicago municipal courses so just be aware. Overall it's a decent course, meant to accommodate the amateur golfer or someone who wants to work on their short game, as I have reached multiple greens from the blue tees and will consistently have 2nd shots inside 125 yards. Like I said it's a good practice course or weekday nice weather course. The staff is always amazing and they have very outgoing personalities. I enjoy this course and will continue to play here often, I just wish they had better bunkers.
Not what I expected
Way over priced. Course was in terrible condition.
Brutal winter and this is a wrecked course
It's not their fault probably because of the winter we just had, but the course is in brutal shape. it think there is as much fairway dirt as grass. I'm sure in a month or two it will be better. Still not worth anywhere near $50 a round.
early in season
Greens were being aerated not really fair to grade course conditions yet. Staff very friendly and accommodating. This is one of my favorite golf courses in the Chicagoland area.
Fine course but very slow
Pace of play was a really downer on our experience. 18 holes took over 5 hours and we waited at every hole which completely ruined the rhythm of the day.
Well mainteined
I have been playing this course every saturday this year and I have to admit it is always been in very good conditions. considering how many people play, the staff is really doing a great job to keep it in good condtions.
Enjoy!
The pace of play is slow. Overcrowded in the afternoon. They let a foursome cut in on the back nine and held up there groups of players right behind
They let a group of foursome start on the back nine, cut in front of three group of players which is a twosome, three sone and twosome, totally ruin the pace of plays for everyone... Very disappointing.
Nice course - bad pace.
Got to the course and had to wait about 10 minutes for a cart. Course has a nice, short set up. Course was well maintained, but the pace was way too slow. Course needs a ranger to move golfers along. Played 9 in 4 hours, had to leave after 9. Got a rain check for the other 9, which was great. I would probably play during the week the next time.
Cool note: deer were all over the course and were not scared of the golfers (see picture).
very slow play. no rangers on the course
course was fine. Greens a little long so they played slower. Took over 5 hours to play. Lack of staff out on the course allowed play to be this slow. Lots of novice golfers so be prepared to take at least 5 hours. Hot Dog is $4.50. Pricing for beer and pop slightly higher than this quality of course should be charging.
Long round
Nice course. Can put up nice scores here and decently maintained. Prolly one of nicest staffs I've encountered, starter was hilarious. My gripe was we played a thurs afternoon and after 5 hrs walked off on 16. Way too long of a round
Thank you for your feedback, and we apologize that pace of play affected your experience at Indian Boundary. We are diligently working on ways to improve pace. Please click the link below for more details. We hope we will see you again at Indian Boundary this spring.
