Dodging water on the second, and every hole for that matter.. Photo submitted by aaronsbass on 05/18/2013
Nice course, well kept, pace horrible
Nice course, well kept. Most holes are relatively short with wide fairways, with a few challenging ones mixed in. Fairways and greens were in pretty good shape and rolled true.
The only bone I have to pick is the pace. The tees times every 7 1/2 minutes needs to stop. When we arrived, they were backed up a half hour on the first tee alone. Just a line of 6-8 carts waiting to tee off. Most holes had a lengthy wait as well. If it weren't for this, it would have been a great experience.
Decent course for the money, although it can be slow play.
The course is your average city/public course. With that comes decent upkeep but also limited attention to detail. On nice days, especially weekends, it can be very slow play and don't expect to tee off at your scheduled tee time. Also, the last time I played when it was busy they ran out of golf carts and we had to wait for groups coming off the 18th so that we could get their carts. I would recommend this course for a mid-week round when you just want to play a basic course for a decent price. Definitely not somewhere you want to go for a golf outing experience on the weekends.
Sprinklers on every green on a Friday afternoon?
This course is very short, even when playing the blue tees. There are a few challenging holes that make for tough approach shots onto either small or surrounded greens. I could not believe the sprinklers were on every green of the front nine. We had to dodge the water every time we putt. We tee'd off at 11:30.
Good Early Season Track
The course is very playable for the early season mid to high handicap golfer. Well maintained as well. Staff was friendly and the pace of play was good (we played on a Thursday). The only issue was the incredible quantity of mosquitoes on the course. An unexpected surprise and possibly the most challenging aspect of the layout.
You try hitting a low draw punch out while being attacked by 50 mosquitoes!
Consider elsewhere
We booked a time at this course for Sunday at 1 pm. It turns out they have no starter and they overbooked the course as well. We ended up having to wait a significant amount at each hole and took around 3 hours just to get thru the first nine. Sadly there wasn't enough daylight to continue. There was no ranger there as well and we had a cart.
Good Deal
Good deal if you get the right price, grew up not far from this course so I have played it more than a few times. Nothing too fancy, what you see is what you get. Many driveable par 4's for the medium to long hitters. Course was in good shape from what I remember years ago, they have improved several tee boxes.
The grass and greens looked great this year.
I't been a long time since I played this course. It's a very WIDE open course to play, and I enjoyed playing it. Not hard to find your ball at all. It's also a bit long for the ladys. However if you enjoy driving the ball, and your a pretty long hitter it's well worth playing it.
Short and cheap
Course was very busy however it was Ryder Cup weekend. Course isn't very exciting, a lot of straight and short holes. Fairways were barren and dry on some holes. But overall a great value if you get the right price.
This course has a very good outlook in store for it.
This is a good course that could use some TLC in certain areas regarding keeping the fairways in good shape. It has gotten better in the past two years as far as the club house remodeling and layout of it. The staff is very friendly and hard working.
slow pace
slow play, too many walkers, no rangers to keep pace, course books every 8 minutes and does not get you off on time
Great Course Close to the City
This course is a great course close to the city and is a great course overall. Course is well maintained and at a good price.
I am disappointed that I paid more than the cost showed on golf now. They said it was city taxes. This is the first time I've seen this.
I hope something will be done for me to make up for paying more than the site said.
