Overall nice 9 hole course
Greens were in good shape. Grass was nice and green. Enjoyed the large mature trees throughout the course. There was one hole with water where the fairway was in bad shape likely due to some flooding but otherwise the course was in very nice shape. I would definitely return to Billy Caldwell.

3 Hours for 9 Holes
Probably will not play this course again unless I'm desperate. Showed up for my tee time and it was a 20 minute wait for carts. The group coming off 9 was playing in a 9 person group with 3 carts, starter saw and didn't do anything. Finally got to play and 9 holes took 3 hours which seems almost impossible. Group ahead of us was still waiting to tee off on every hole when we got to the tee box... inexcusable and just poor management. The course itself is easy, no sand and barely any water. The only perk is that it's about 20 minutes from the city.

Not sure i agree
First Timer Will Be Back
I was thoroughly impressed with everything here: friendly/helpful staff, not over crowded on a weekday morning but the facility showed signs of life, cost-effective, and I even got $5 off my next round by participating in their Tuesday Spin & Win!
The course was well taken care of and forgiving. Short grass surrounds the fairways, and all but 2 holes are straight shots next to each other, so you can play from the other fairway if that's your style.
All around two thumbs up and I will be back!

Over Booked
I usual expect some back up but today was an overBook. I had a tee time at 11:37 and I got there at 11:20. Walk ups were allowed ( which I get but give tee time people the courtesy) and seen 12 at the 1st tee. Also, no starter means a ton of 2 somes and single, what’s the matter with playing with strangers.

Billy Caldwell is one of my favorite quick 9 tracks. I really enjoyed the round and I can't wait to come back and play again.

A good 9 hole experience
This course definitely serves its purpose in the golf world, especially in Chicago where golf options are somewhat limited. It's quite easy, which is good for the confidence. In fact I shot my first career sub 40 here (a 38!), which was exciting. RARELY do you find a way to lose any balls (you just play an errant shot off the fairway over). Proximity to the city is a plus. The issues are that the ground on some fairways is extremely hard, and the greens are often long. Sometimes it's like you're putting on a fairway. All in all, if you are looking to play a round in 2 hours, near the city, you should check this place out!
