Tee boxes are better this year
Greens are nice and tee boxes feel more level this year - well done.
Billy Caldwell (Daytime)
Booked a 10:20 teetime though golf now, checked in at 10. When I got there, two groups of 4 were waiting to tee off on one, all walk ins. I know this because golf now teetimes we’re completely open which is why I booked. About 10:10 is when I was ready to tee off, thinking at least one of the groups had gone, but no. I didn’t get to tee off until 10:42 (22 minutes after schedule). I asked the ranger (who kept freely booking anybody without observing the course) if he could upgrade me to a cart since I’m playing as a single and am 20+ minutes behind pace. He told me no, that I should have shown up 30 minutes early instead of 20. This dude was a complete joke. I’ll play any other 9 hole course in the city, but never this one again. This one sole Ranger completely ruined this course for me & I’ll never play it, nor recommend it to anybody because of this tool. 4 hour round to play 9 holes. Counted over 70 people out there. 72 can be on a course max at a time. This guy was completely ignorant to golf and it’s etiquette. Terrible course, should have listened to my buddies.
Great value
Pace of play decent for a Forest Preserve course. They’d make a killing if they sold beer. Great bang for your buck tho and the staff is nice. Course condition good as well.
Good for a Fairly Quick 9
Pace of play good for a Saturday. Course is in decent shape. Greens are in fine shape but there is some hard pan around the fairways. Great overall value however.
Great value!
This course is a great value. The course was well maintained and is very inexpensive. It offers a few challenging holes, but most are pretty straight and open.
Billy is an old Friend
Billy is billy. When you are looking for a quick, easy, affordable weekday nine hole course, Billy is your man. Not amazing golf, amazing conditions or ammenities, but good value all around.
In great condition right now, best I've seen it
Forest preserve courses really take the "forest" part seriously. No bunkers here, but enough trees and elevation changes to make most holes challenging.
You cannot let a threesome tee up with one set of clubs. and, then see that at least 1 of 3 has never played before.
We've all been new to this game at one point but allowing a person to swing 5-10 times to hit the hit ball 5-10 feet makes for a long round.
It's an excellent opportunity for the course to teach the new player about pace pf play.
You cannot allow 1 group to let 3 tee-times stack up at the tee box waiting for a threesome to get out of the fairway while the 2 holes in front of the 1 bag group are wide-open.
