Nice short course
Great short course for Chicago. Multiple par 3s and we’ll kept. Rather busy but good value for the spot.
Surprise!
I live a mile from here and felt like getting 9 in for lunch so I figured I’d try this 9 hole city course. To my surprise this course was in great shape! The fairways are short but beautiful. Greens are challenging and manicured really well! Great place to leave the drivers home and hone your irons!
Pleasant day at Robert Black
The courses in good condition and it’s fun to play. There are lots of bunkers and challenging shots. The short game practice area is very good.
Hidden Gem
Robert Black is the best 9 hole track in the city. Easy to get to and very seldom hard to get a tee time at. The staff is super friendly and the course is in great condition. Perfect for a mid-week round, it may not be long but the track provides plenty of opportunity to hone in your game.
Play Black
For a (usually) quick 9 holes go play Black. Three are challenging holes throughout the course. Sometimes play is slow on the weekends but that’s the way it is on a lot of mini courses!
Haven’t played in 30ish years, way better that I remembered
Last time I played here was in the mid 90s. And old school Chicago “muni”, welcome mat tees, no sand in the bunkers and literal trash in the rough. No real difference between the fairway and the collar/rough/collar.
This was a great experience and the course was a lot of fun.
