Great weekday course
Course was in good shape. Not busy during the week. Recommended.
Great course to got your game together and it was in pretty nice shape.
Course Conditions Disappointing
Most of the grass was green, but on some holes it was hard to tell the fairway from the rough. The greens were in great shape, the fairways not so much. The tee boxes are the worst. You have a choice of hitting of of a at on a concrete slab or a grass tee further forward. Many of the grass tees are in poor condition, with lots of bare spots and uneven surfaces. This is a good place for practice, but the course conditions leave a lot to desire.
Quirky
Positives: Greens were nice. Pretty setting in forest preserve.
Negatives: Not for the serious golfers. From the back tees, you tee off from maps. Ground very hard. Many par 4s under 300 yards.
Would be good for kids or new golfers learning the game.
Nice little course
This course was great for my confidence. I enjoyed the condition of the course and the play wasn't back up. Very fun short and clean.
Local
Nothing special. Nice people working there. Cheap - but you get what you pay for. Prone to flooding after rains. Tips are mats so I don’t play from them unless I need to on the elevated/below greens holes. No traps at all. It’s just a place to go and have some fun. Perfect for beginners.
Simple course slower play
A short 4,500 yard course without par 5’s built by the railroad men in 1910. It’s has two long Par 3’s hole number 2 and 6 both at 230 yards from the Mat but from the grass tees they play 200yards.
Yes many holes have a mat or grass tee. It’s a good course for people learning the game.
Also it’s located in Edgebrook so they do not sell alcohol so you may bring your own.
