Edgebrook Parking lot
The golf course was fine. I returned to the parking lot after I finished my round and found the windshield of my car smashed. It had been hit by a golf ball. There was a round area the size of a golf ball which shattered the windshield and spread across the glass. Not the golf course's fault, so I didn't bother to report it. No doubt it was a towering high slice from the first tee which went completely over the trees and into the parking lot. Just a terrible golf shot. I was parked in the row closest to the golf course. In all the years I have played this course, I have never seen anyone slice it that bad from the first tee.
Mixed Feelings
I will start with the pros...the course is fairly easy, ( no par 5's ) no sand traps and very little water hazards, making it a nice beginner course ....price is fair, and the course was easily walked.....
the cons ....because it is a beginner course, a lot of beginners are learning there and have very little ball flight control and not much golf knowledge, like yelling fore and parking their cart in front of the green.....I was almost hit by someone's ball 4 separate times...the layout is very tight , example; as you tee off on the 1st hole, the group on the 18th hole is hitting towards you and there is zero protection, as the trees are very small ... be sure to use the restroom before going out, as there are very few restrooms available on the course, also zero drinking water available, and no beverage cart person ...so be sure to hydrate and wear a hard hat....lol....the course really should offer more netting to protect the players....have fun.
Great course for working on your irons!
Very well maintained and great course to improve your iron game. Don’t need a driver!
Simple course
Edgebrook is a simple course good for working on Iron shots and chipping. It’s only 4,500 yards with only par 3 and 4’s you really don’t need a driver here but it’s fun to try and drive the greens on the many shot Par 4’s I would say most are under 250 yards. The greens are true flat and slow. I was told the course was designed by railroad executives that wanted a place to relax near there homes it’s not hard just a course to get away and relax. I don’t normally get a cart it’s mostly flat and very walkable.
