Very nice conditions and it is great that they delayed airification
Only thing that made the day a little less enjoyable was the pace of play. There were too many twosomes playing and not being joined together. Had to wait to tee off on almost every hole.
Great value
This course is challenging, and fun to play. I play here often. Great rates, and very friendly people work here.
Over Crowded
I really like this course and it is always well maintained. There were too many "pro's" playing and the rangers really did nothing to move things along.
this course is fun to play
/////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////that,s all folks! has a nice round.
Response to GoalieO who played on July 1 and gave course poor rating.
On Monday July 1 Goalie0 played Lincoln Oaks and gave us a unfair rating so I felt the need to respond as a person that cares about Lincoln Oaks. We normally do not have any tee times available on Mondays due to League play, but we got the Morning League a chance to play Lincolnshire Country Club across the street so we openned up the course! He indicated that he played in 4 hours and 45 minutes which is a 1/2 hour slower than usually. If Goalie O would have been on time for his tee time he would not have run into my afternoon league. He was about 15 minutes late for his tee time so when he made the turn he got caught in the flow of one of our 9 hole leagues. We do allow some of our leagues to play 5 somes. Most of our leagues play in 2 hours and 15 minutes for nine holes.Actually Goalie O played in 4.15min.Sorry we are a busy course that golfers want to play!! Our course is in excellant condition and I have alot of pride in Lincoln Oaks. Hopefully your next round at Lincoln Oaks will be better experience, but show up on time! Management that cares about its golfers!
Good mix
The front 9 is a fun mix of par 3's and 5's. Some holes are side by side on another which caused a lot of people playing in each others fairways. This slowed pace of play. The greens are small but generally well maintained although one hole had deep gouges taken out of it. All in all a nice course with friendly staff. Better to play when it's not busy.
Sloooooooooooooow play? Who cares?
Havn't played this course in a few years...and have always basically liked it. BUT, beware when you head out that between leagues and the fact that fivesomes (two in front of me) are tolerated, it will take way too long to play the course. To be fair, someone did try to break up the five-somes, but a short time later they rejoined. Some golfers feel the rules don't apply to them! When we complained to course officials, they just shrugged. Hey, they make money on leagues, so who needs us. See ya! It's a shame too, because the course, save the tee boxes, is in good shape, and it's a fun old traditional-wooded track to play.
i just love the set-up of the course
the course lulls you into a false sense of security and then bites your head off :-)
Lost many balls, the rough was so thick and long. Terrible
We were supposed to tee off at 11:28. they put out 2some and 3 some in front of us. didnt get off till 11:50 . Very slow. Saw some 5somes out there. want my money back
the starter needs to make sure the people who have tee times arn't having to wait for walk ups that are trying to make a golf league miss. Not Cool
starter need to play the tee times players that took the time to make a reservation, and not slide in their buddies that missed their league play.people make tee times for a reason,
Interesting Course on the South Side
Very well manicured greens and fairways. Many greens are quite small with a few substantially larger. Most have a good deal of slope from back to front. If they were mowed closely things could be tough. The rough was not terribly long, but it was heavy and most fairways are narrow. The layout is very unconventional: the front nine contains 4 par fives, 2 par fours and 3 par threes while the back only has one par five (the longest is 550). Do be careful on number 14 (the only par 5 on the back) from the tee you cannot see down into a depression that is fronted by a ridge. Because of this, you cannot see a pond on the left at about 250 yards from the back tees, nor can you see golfers who are down there. We were hit into by the group behind. There is an old school bell alongside the fairway that apparently you are supposed to ring when you're clear and it's safe for those on the tee to hit but no one in the pro shop mentioned the etiquette.
Nicest Course in the South Chicagoland Area. Price, Service and Condition
I have been playing Lincoln Oaks since 2000 because it is close to my home. New owners purchased course from Lincolnshire Country Club several years ago. Since then, the condition has improved to a "10". Beautiful fairways and greens. New sand in the traps this year and a owner that cares. Sometimes the course seems crowded, but every time I play the round moves along. Great staff and rangers make me feel like they care. Hardest par 3 s in the area. I never get bored with this course. Best Italian Sausage sandwich around.
