Used to be well-maintained; now in poor condition
Good: The staff is extremely nice and helpful. No houses, except on hole #9. Enough challenge for average player
Bad: Many things wrong with this course, the worst of them all ... the greens are in bad shape. To go on... the fairways are rock hard and uneven at most places.
Great course
Great staff! Course is in pretty good shape. Greens need some work but you can't tell the work is in progress

Good: 1. Friendly staff 2. They are building new cart paths and repairing some old ones. Hence 2 stars.
Need Improvement: 1. MOST of the fairways are very poorly maintained. Plenty of bad spots with no grass and depressions. The ground is so hard, even on grassy areas, the club bounces back. Forget about taking a divot. 2. All but may be 2 greens are in VERY BAD shape. 10-30% of the greens has no grass. Did not see any attempt to repair these greens. The course was almost empty on a good day like today. I see why.

Golf Pass Bargin
They have done a lot in the last year here to improve the course. Some of the greens still need attention but they are getting better. ts a course all the local within 40 miles should play. Pace of play is good and the course is challenging. for sure.
Nice place to play
The people running the course are very nice and the cost are very low. For the average and beginner golfer this is a great place to play.

Practice round perfect for price
Great place to get a round in and work on your shots. You can’t beat the price for a round of golf. Lots of green in poor shape, lots of fairways cut to short and mud spots..... but, for the price you can tee off twice and skip the approach. Or chip twice and skip the putts. Guy in clubhouse was way cool!!
Solid course, good value for your Dough$
It's a decent little track. Much more challenging from back(blue) tees then whites. I recommend playing them to see the whole course. They make a big difference on half the holes. Not always in immaculate condition but it's a value course. It's worth the money. Friendly people. Non snobby atmosphere. Load up on drinks in the clubhouse as there is not always a beer cart out and about.
Golf Pass Bargin
Just as last year course in pretty good shape despite all the heavy machinery on the course last year. I highly recommend all golfers give this course a go.
A Familiar track
Always enjoy River Heights. Hope they can fix some of the issues on a few greens, but other than that all good.
Great value
Very well maintained for a public course. Last year 17th hole did face issues with flooding, and I don't know if this was fixed. Hardly their fault, given all the rain. Scenic and challenging. For seniors you can't beat the value. It's our course of choice.
This is not a fair review because it was 32 out that morning but we tough it was hard to play well lol

River Heights on October 28, 2020
It was a chilly day and overnight frost delayed starting times. A number of the greens were ragged apparently from disease. There was some work being performed on the course which required some detours. All things considered it was still an enjoyable round of golf. My friend and I played as a twosome and were able to finish the 18 holes in less than 3 1/2 hours.
Worker
So need to complain because it was insane to me the amount of disrespect given to me. The pro shop checker in guy was very rude. He was tall with long hair and I believe he said on the phone his name was Austin. I don't know if this guy is new or something but he was very rude on the phone earlier in the day, and when I got to the course he got mad that I wanted my own cart and he had to go downstairs to get a cart for me. As a paying customer and as a 62 year old who does not want to get sick, he had a lot of attitude. He was so disrespectful, and the sad thing is this is the first bad encounter I have had with any staff. I have played multiple times there, and every single employee is nice and respectful besides this young man. If I was this golf course I would make sure he does not come back next year because it looks bad on a course that was planning on shutting down.

Poor Maintenance
The course was fun to play, but most of the greens were in terrible shape and a handful of the fairways looked like they haven't been touched for weeks. Besides the maintenance problems, the course is pretty bland, but for a cheap price, it may be worth it.
