Oak Grove Golf Course

So nice for a gorgeous course at a great value that offers peace and quiet compared to typical Chicago suburban courses. I always check on availability at Oak Grove first before looking at other courses!

Tee times 7 min apart and first 6 holes played in ~18 min each. Play was so slow that we decided to play the front 9 twice as there was no one on one when we drove by on way to 10. Never saw the back 9. No ranger. No sand in many of the traps.

This is a beautiful course that I might try again on a weekday.

This is clearly a top notch golf course and maintained at the highest left. The crew was cutting fairways at 1pm and stopped every time for golfers. Even the leave blower was out to ensure no debris on the course. If you need length the pro tees are over 7000 and that's if you can find them because there's some hidden ones. Greens were fast but so true. The only thing lacking is the clubhouse/food...only 15 min drive from LG and it plays extremely tough if have windy conditions. Again I can't see how LG can charge so high when courses like this are 15 minutes away. Please see and enjoy this well kept secret course only minutes away. You'll thank me for saving you $100 and have money to spend on dinner in LG.

Course is overall goods lots of blind tee shots so first time playing it is difficult off the tee picking lines. Greens were nice not very fast though The course has a lot of holes that sit low so can be very soft.

I recommend this course to all levels of talent. This isn’t the easiest course but will make you a better golfer if you play this. The staff is nice and you will have fun!

Drove from Milwaukee on a recommendation from a friend that lives in NE Illinois. Big lot of land and a nice layout. Not fully believing the rating/slope based on the tees I like to play and that I almost always play a new course weekly (I played whites thinking this course was more challenging, should have played Blue). Fairways and greens were very good. Pace was avg. I would play here again.

I have been playing on this course over the last few years and I really, really enjoy it. Hole #1 is difficult to get a Birdie, and Hole #2 is also difficult to get a Birdie. Hole #11 is the most challenging, but a fun one nonetheless. I love playing here. The staff, Ian and Austin, are very friendly!

Nice course always great shape. Pace of play was a little slow at times but played through and picked up.

While there was a rain delay the actual time on the course was 5:20!!!! That is with groups quitting after an hour delay.

The bunkers are pretty bad , rocks and muddy

Course conditions pretty good , greens a little slow

Enforce a dress code policy ! Golfers in gym shorts and tee shirts and after the rain delay guys golfing without shirts

The group in front of us played the back tees and hit ground balls for 18 holes

Never cared they were 2 holes behind by the 5th hole

Need someone to police pace of play

Outstanding layout and design definitely a test of your skills. Unfortunately, the range was closed during the morning before my round to pick up balls which I thought was interesting. Course needs a touch of love, but still very enjoyable.
