Very Nice
Turf is excellent, beautiful layout, greens are good but could be a bit faster for me. Only complaint are sand traps. No sand, just packed dirt gravel mix
My nemesis
Played 100s of courses in 25-30 states. Oak is an amazing layout, that crushes my soul. It will penalize any wayward shot, has plenty of length, great deception but very fair. I’m maybe a 10-12 handicap, but have yet to break 90 from the 6600+ Blue Championship tees. Blacks bring in more pain.
We’ve played here for 4 years, course was in the best shape yet. Maybe new management.
Great value, layout and experience.
Great Course w/Friendly Staff
This is a terrific and somewhat challenging course to play. It is affordable and the staff in the Pro Shop and at the bar are very personable and friendly. Austin and Tim were excellent. I love coming to this course, as it is a hidden gem in Harvard, IL. The practice putting green needs some fixing, along with the bunkers needing to be raked to get loose rocks out. The natural beauty of this course is what makes it so nice.
Hole in One
Always liked this course except hole 11.
Got my first hole in one after 62 years of serious effect on #8.
Summer Tee boxes and Greens
Usual summer fashion the Tees and Greend are getting beatt up pretty bad but it is what it is when u pound players in every 10 minutes.
Fun
We had a lot of rain the night before we played but the course was in great condition. The ground crew were working hard pumping out sand traps.
Great Layout
Incredible piece of property. Really fun golf course and terrific layout. You don’t see any houses or cars, each hole is unique. Greens don’t have that many ball marks. I wish they had sand and seed mix to fill fairway divots. They sell bottled beer on the course which is unusual but the beer was cold! Only one beverage cart on 18 holes. Great price found on Golf Now. Greens were a bit slow although it rained heavily the day before. I played this course many years ago and really enjoyed it and brought a friend and he really enjoyed it.
Challenging and Long Course - Could Use Maintenance
I have played this course 3 times in a row. It is a long, challenging course. The front 9 is a bit easier to navigate then the more difficult back 9. I think this course could bring in a lot more players, but the putting gree and driving range need some updating. The putting green needs to be refreshed because there are some spots that are damaged, so it like putting through Beirut. Some of the greens on the actual course have this issue as well. The pace of play can get backed up from time to time. The first time I played here, I saw a younger group of 6 go out on 1 hole. Thankfully, there is a starter out there now to prevent this from happening, but it could be that they wait after the 1st hole. Either way, it is worth the money to play here, but it takes a long drive to get to the course location. The inside staff are very nice and accommodating.
